Guest guest
om sri ganeshaya namaha hello everybody, there has been a lot of mails on kalasam so i thought i'll share my part of information a kalasam is a pot that is filled with water or rice, is surrounded by mango leaves and has a coconut on top of it.sometimes the kalasam is tied around by thread in a diamond fashion.kalasam is used during all occasions and is put in front of the god. from lord vishnu's navel came brahma, who created the entire universe. the water in the kalasam represents the primordial soup from which life has emerged.the leaves and coconut represent creation. the thread represents love that binds all of us. when asuras and devas churned the milky ocean, lord appeared before them holding a pot with nectar, so kalasam also represents immortality. as such a small pot represents so many things it is sacred and is worshipped. hope everyone has enjoyed reading it. bye, srilakshmi New DSL Internet Access from SBC &
