Guest guest
Dear Family, I have a couple of questions which I would like some help with. My first question is to do with Sanskrit grammar: Which of the following two mantras is the correct way? Om shree Kaalii Devyai namah (or) Om shree Kaalyai Devyai namah In other words, is the " yai " termination only on the last in a series of words within a name, or on all of them? In this example, the name I am starting with is " Kali Devi " . My second less pressing question: In the Mahamantra of Lord Krishna ( " Hare Krishna, Hare Krishna.....Hare Rama.... " etc.) does " Hare Rama " denote 1: Ramachandra of the Ramayana whose wife is Sita, or 2: Krishna's brother Balarama who tended the cows with Him? Or both? The reason I would like to know is because I occasionally worship Lord Krishna (I believe He is a form of Maa Kaali) and when I sing " Hare Krishna " I think of His form with the flute and the gopis and herding cows and so on. So when I sing " Hare Rama " I would like to know whether I might think either of the form of cowherd Balarama, or of the form of Lord Ramachandra (and thus Maa Mathangi). If anyone can answer either of my questions, I thank you for your patience. Jai Maa Kaali Loladas
Guest guest
Sree mathre namah greatness to mother dear sri Loladas, allow me to discuss about the questions that you have posed in your earlier mail. as per the sanskrit grammer, all the female genders' words should end with aa, ee or ai or the 2nd, 4th, 11th vowels in the sanskrit alphabet. there are also some extensions which need not be mentioned at this juncture. these pronounciations one would find in the namavalis of all the female goddesses. regarding the lines that you have sent, they are the puja mantras not the japa or the dhyana mantras as they donot contain any Bijaksharas. with these lines, you can do puja and the right sentence is Om Sri Kaali Devyai namah which means, respected Kaali Devi, i offer my salutations to you. as such all the lines can and should be adorned with 'Om'. Word 'Devi' means that one which has a female shape. Kaali means (very emphalitacally speaking, as this word contains in it vast ocean of Knowledge) that which is a form of Time or 'Kaala' which we ordinaryli pronounce as time. female form of time is Kaali and the male form is Kaala. Out of the two, the above lines are grammatically and syntactically correct according to grammer. this line any one can do or recite. the actual mantra should be beget from a authoritative Guru or a teacher. always at the feet of my guru Samvidaananda saktha. ________ Outgrown your current e-mail service?
