Guest guest
Hello Everyone, I have been following the mantra secrecy discussion, and I have some questions. Any suggestions would be helpful. I am an American, and I am not by birth a Hindu. However, I have a deep affection to the Goddess, especially Durga. I was lucky to participate in satsang (right word) with Shree Ma. I purchased Durga Puja cd and book. Should one have been initiated in order to conduct puja? Quite frankly, the language of the puja is a considerable obstacle to conducting puja, so I just recite the mantra given in the book. I feel that Durga removes all difficulties and obstacles and I feel at peace reciting her mantra. Does one have to have a formal initiation in order to conduct japa? I live in an area of my city where there are no Hindu temples, and feel too self-conscious to go out of my way to go to one. I don't want to stir up any more controversy, but if I feel Her love for me when reciting japa, why shouldn't I recite her mantra? Respectfully, Amina Tax Center - File online, calculators, forms, and more
Guest guest
May Maa Durga bless you ! In all sadhana, japa, mantra, yantra etc one factor is most likely to be overlooked by sadhak is shradha(faith) ,specially when so much emphasis is given to external paraphernalia like mantra or yantra !But the truth is that the shradha is one and only one which actually counts ! Amina ! You are fortunate enough that Maa has blessed you with her most precious gift-Shraddha (inner faith ).When you are possessing this most precious diamond,it is totally immaterial and irrelevant that you wear the diamond in an iron, copper, silver or gold ring ! It is the diamond that counts, not the ring. The ring is for the diamond, not vice versa ! Other paraphernalia like asanas, japa, initiation from the Guru, mantra or yantra etc etc are just like the ring ! So Oh blessed lady, don't worry about any other things/factors.Take any mantra of Shree Durga Maa,take or not take any initiation from any one,but recite the mantra with love and devotion and see yourself what happens !!! Thanking you, Shirish svgajjar Bombay,INDIA. ---- Friday, April 04, 2003 11:27:25 PM Devoted to Ma Hello Everyone, I have been following the mantra secrecy discussion, and I have some questions. Guest guest
pranam, brahman by birth or not the question, the persons should aim in his life to know about brahmam he is real brahmin.dont confuse if u have got inclination to god and want to reach the ultimate goal you are the real brahmin.may be in olden days all brahmins were aimed towards para brahmam. those days these things were kept secret, further if u go in detail it will lead to sex life that may be one reason. that is why people say " chitrinbam and perinbam in tamil " very simple thing when you are kissing your own wife mouth what happend to the smell( it well suits men and women) beacause you are forgetting yourself at that moment the same thing has to come while you are praying and japa chanting then you can definitely achieve. because it should not used in wrong side may be it is also mythit is kept secret further the interest will come on a subject as long as it is covered this is the rule.. now a days which is bad which is good itself a big thing so dont waste in these things you have be ordered by MATHA TO CHANT / read her mantras do it. but try to understand first that is more important.there is lakshiyartha and vachiartha so try to know it fully, even other wise you are interested go ahead. with pranam swathmanandha natha
