Tripura Rahasya

Hi All,

 

In the Tripura Rahasya (in Jnana kanda I guess), there is converstion

between Datattreya and Parusarama about the Self and the illusory

nature of the world.

Parusaram is said to have been initiated into Bala mantra and he

after doing sadhana for some number years goes to back Datattreya to

clarify his doubts.

This text has been highly referred by Ramana Maharshi.

I have some doubts regarding this text.

1.Has Parusaram practiced self-enquiry after listening to Datattreya -

or has be become enligtened immediately after getting his doubts

clarified - or has he further practiced his sadhana in Sri Vidya?

2. I believe Datattreya is originally Sakthi Upasaka (as I read from

other books) became enlightened after doing austereties - has he done

self-enquiry or has he practiced Sadhana in Sri Vidya?

3. In general does any practitioner of Sri Vidya do self-enquiry

after some years of mantra sadhana - or does he realize self with

mantra sadhana alone - if this is true then what was the necessity of

that text - Datattreya would have simply told him to continue his

sadhana which would clarify his doubts.

 

I hope some enlightened one will remove my ignorance regarding this.

 

Note: I am sure this question is relevant to this group and I guess I

have not asked any esoteric questions of Sri Vidya. If I post this

question in some self-enquiry group, they would instruct me to ask

myself " who gets that doubt? " .
