The best parts of Chandi part are the four sthudhis in chapter 1, 4,

5, and 11. Durga Saptha Sloki is the essence of Sri Sri Chandi.

You do not need any initiation for reading these. Only when you want

to do formal Parayana you need initiation as it involved recitation of

Navarna/Navakshari mantra.

 

Start with Saptha Sloki and the sthudhis.

 

Tarapeeth is a few kilometers from Rampurhat, which is a station in

the Sealdah - New Jalpaiguri (Darjeeling) route. You have good hotels

for stay in Tarapeeth.
