But do not be taken in by the postings in the web sites and popular magazines. Unfortunately in recent years astrologers have come to dominate Hindu Religion. They put a lot of emphasis on Kula Devata, when in actual fact the vast majority of Hindus do not have a Kula Devata. Your Ishta Devata is the one nearest to your heart. She is basically your protector and giver of boons. While performing bigger pujas we always say Kuladevathabyo Namah! and Gramadevathabyo Namah! MAA is the same in all her myriad forms. Jai MAA !!! Guest guest
Adimakkavu is as important as Kuladevata. Our Kuladeivam Sri Venkataachalapathy but we also have an Adimakkavu re. which were ignorant for years. My inlaws had not talked about this ( i don't know if they were awareof this) & three years back we learnt about this Thaazhakkottu Bhagawathy from my husband's cousin's wife. Well... we went " on the trail of this forgotten Deity " near Alathur ( PGT DT.) & kept a padippanam ( calculated for 62 years, as my husband was 62 then ) & Chhathufied a Paavaadai. For the past two years we have been visiting Her.... an awesome loving Devi in a fairly big temple amidst fields.... & She has been kind to us. She really has made a lot of differance in our lives. But I keep telling Her each time I see Her.. " Devi.. look here.. I'll come as long as I am able to but don'e expect the children to come. You should always take care of them They are your kids " manappullikkavu Bhagawathy is beautiful. In our annual trip to kerala we visit Her also after visting Thaazhakkodu. God Bless you usha

Guest guest
Manappuly Kavu is a suburb of Palghat town. The nearest railway station is Palghat(formerly Olavakkod). By the way for the devotees of Manappully Kavu MAA, you should perform the ChurruVilakku vazhipadu when you get an oppertunity. All the lamps in the temple are lit and it looks fantastic. I remember the joy we had when we did it some years back. Pouring the oil on each lamp and lighting it. Manappully Kavu is famous for the Chandu. Jai MAA KAALI !!! , seetharaman vasu <vasumerc wrote: > > Namaskaram > > Could you pls tell me where the manapullu kavu > bhagavathi temple is situated and explain how to > reach by train. > > Tks and regards > S.Vasu Iyer - tirupur. > > > --- J Jayasankar <jjayasankarr wrote: > > > Thanks for the message. > > > > ush as <ushas77 wrote: Adimakkavu is as > > important as Kuladevata. Guest guest
you can go from palghat directly by auto, just tell the driver manappuly kavu or you can go from coimbatore. take a bus to palghat, ask the driver to tell u the right stop and then u can take a rickshaw. the temple closes at 11 on days other than fridays, when it is open till 12 in the noon. in the evenings i think they are open from 5:30 to 7 or 7:30 pm. as they saidm, teh main offering is chaandu aatal, they give you the chaandu ina small bottle to take home, it is to be applied onyour forehead everyday. u can slo perform chandu poornabhishekam if u wish to, facilities also exist for monthly pooja, bhagawathy sevai, etc. regards Sandeep Subramanian, School of Physiotherapy and Occupational therapy, McGill University, Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
