This information has relevance to recent mails about Manappullikkavu

Bhagavati. Devi Hemambika, Vadakkanthara Sri Thirupuraikkal

Bhagavati and Manappulli Devi are considered the divine trinity

guarding Palakkad town. Legend connects the Vadakkanthara Bhagawathi

to the story of Kannaki. Of course, Palakkad and surrounding areas

abound with numerous Devi temples. This time of the year is

festival season at most of them. The Manappulli vela (annual

festival) was held just last week.
