Guest guest
Thanks, MSB Nice cover of an old Bollywood tune ... and our out-of-left-field Mathangi is starting to look like a proper pop star! I don't know if mainstream tastes are quite ready for her yet, but M.I.A. is doing some really different, innovative and exciting stuff. Her first CD was just fantastic and all of the pre-releases for this one have been nothing short of brilliant. Just yesterday, as it happens, I found a rave review in a (gasp!) hard-copy version of the current " Rolling Stone " -- giving it a very rare 4-1/2 stars (where 4 = excellent; and 5 = classic). If you want to have a look, here's the link: URL: http://www.rollingstone.com/reviews/album/15828484/review/15854428/kala TINY URL: http://tinyurl.com/23hbc9 , " msbauju " <msbauju wrote: > > > For you Mathangi Arulpragasam/M.I.A. fans: > The latest M.I.A. video has a nifty multi-armed goddess sequence. > > http://thedailyreel.com/spotlight/music/archive/2007/08/08/m-i-a-goes- > bollywood-for-jimmy > or > http://tinyurl.com/243w85 > > , " devi_bhakta " > <devi_bhakta@> wrote: > > > > [....] > > > > Growing up in the shadow of civil war, Mathangi " Maya " Arulpragasam > > has a slightly different perspective; she had terrorists in her > > family.
