(since these hues) Strengthen (this) Impression This verse clarifies the nature of Worship the devotee is doing by praising feminine beauty of Devi. She is described and worshipped in the form of a divinely beautiful woman. But what is being worshipped is this entire creation. When a devotee sees and describes her golden crown studded with precious stones he is actually seeing the heavenly bodies represented as jewels in her crown. Though various poetic comparisons are used during these verses to describe her beauty, she is sublime, astral and beyond description. In this verse it is said that the impression that it is the heavenly bodies which adorn her crown is strengthened. The crescent moon is a part of her decoration. But due to the play of colours of the jewel studded crown, this looks crimson like a rain bow and not like a crescent moon. Therefore the devotee cannot but feel that he is seeing the heavenly bodies adorning her. Indeed this impression is true. She is the daughter of lord of the snow mountain Himavata. and the wife of Siva. But she is also the eternal and primal force which causes and contains in her self the entire creation.
