Hinduism is a mixture of Mundane and Divine. It is not a proper mix with uniform

composition every where. It is a very non-uniform mix and it is extremely

difficult to distinguish between the constituents. The over whelming presence of

Mundane, Cheap and even Ridiculous does not necessarily establish absence or

fake nature of divine. It is like a geological exploration in which all the

indications are wrong , all the rocks are barren, but suddenly you find a rich

load of a valuable mineral from the most unlikely associted rocks.

I am quoting below from a book by an Australian Journalist, Sarah MacDonald "

Holy Cow " .

" India is the land of the profound and profane: a place where spirituality and

sanctimoniousness sit miles apart.....I thank Hinduism for showing me that there

are million paths to the divine....A baby is growing inside me. A baby conceived

during our last weekend in the country.... "

She writes about her visit to Mata Amritanandamayi and how she was embraced by

the Mata. She felt nothing but embarassment and remained highly sceptical. But

later on, certain biological and hormonal changes occured in her body for which

there was no adequate explanation from her Australian doctors. She finds

happiness in her marriage and pregnancy. She refuses to admit the changes to the

specific instance of meeting Amritanandamayi but to Hinduism in general.

Hail Mother Goddess

All the things are mere mundane doubts of a skeptic.

Similar to your thoughts, many think of the deeds of jesus, krishna,

rama etc

they also post-mortem each words spoken by jesus/rama/krishna and

each deeds of them and each reactions on various circujstances and

declare that the particular person is bogus.

But a devotee of jesus/rama/krishna would justify the

deeds/words/reactions.

similar is biography: Bible/bhagavatam/ramayan all are subject to

skepticim from doubters like u.those who dont doubt is the devotee.

logic wont apply there. if one ask a vaishnava why krishna kills or

why rama cries when lost sita or ask cristian why jesus cried in

cross...

similarly u ask us why amma did this did that and all

all those deeds/words/reactions we consider as the leela of Her in

this incarnation

no other explanation wuld be necessary.

all the circumstances were created. She made Her parents behave rude

and showed us how to hold firm bhakti in any hard circumstance.

she says:if i could accomplish my devotion in that pathetic

circumstances, who cannot? why cant u?

yes

she is showing the example. all should do upasana like her

give up every material happiness to get krishna/devi/others

and finally we would become that

thou art that--tat twam asi

if amma was born and built up in luxury, how could she show the world

about real devotion?

you know, all the words you condemn in that biograpy is read by

devoteess with intense pleasure.when ammachi caused that rowdy to die

it filled my eyes with tears of happiness because it reminds of Durga

killing Mahisha.

and i hav read biograohy full and none can help crying out of bhakti.

when we read all the incidents of her winning the enemies of bhakti

we get courage to do upasana.that is the aim of that book

she teaches through her life.

hEr life is her teaching

you cant get pleasure from those even in crores of rebirths if doubts

contaminate u

-----In some ways the identification of humans with deities is the very

source of doubt in this world as otherwise we would all have the birthright

of natural divinity.

i wonder If one can do sadhana without a deity. Could you please

mention one such person who got natural divinity as his birthright

please.even if one gets he has finished his sadhana in previous births.

We have all these universities in this world and people join there to

get their degree, and do whatever they are supposed to do by the

universities to obtain degrees. Now if one do not associate with the

universities, would they have the birthright of natural " degree " ?

similarly, by birthitself one may not recognize his divinity. One has

to do upasana(sadhana). deities will get us to the verge of

satchidananda- the goal
