Her manifestation as Sivapriya has one main purpose which is to provide a Father and Mother to this Jagat(universe).Siva is drawn and becomes so devoted that his eyes are always filled with her beauty. This way of describing relationship between husband and wife is found in Verse 5 too. Smara(Manmadha) fills the eyes of his wife Rati. Later in these verses Parvati's extreme devotion to her husband is also described Soundarya Lahari describes not only Devi's Beauty but also the mutual devotion of this Pair. They are the Foremost and Eternal Couple. Her hair is naturally curly and these curly black locks surrounding the face. makes one think of young Black Bees swarming around a Lotus. But this comparison is not adequate to describe the beauty of her face. In fact this standard comparison of Sanskrit poetry is ridiculous when one speaks of her beauty. It seems even the curly locks of her hair know this and they mock at and pity the poor bees which are happily swarming around a lotus in their ignorance. The fully blown lotus has a central filament. Similarly, when the Devi smiles one thinks of her teeth in terms of the brilliant lustre and radiance of the central filament of a fully blown lotus. Perfumes are made from the essence of flowers. The Divine flower which is Devi's face produces naturally, the Supreme Perfume which spreads its fragrance. Her beauty and fragrance finally divert Siva from his meditation and rigorous penance. Siva sees her and since then his honey coloured eyes are filled with her .This is for welfare of the world. Smara who tries to help in this process by aiming his arrows of love at Siva is destroyed by the fury of Siva when disturbed. He regains his body only for his wife Rati. This and previous verse are examples of poetic excellence. The flowers in hair which acquire its natural fragrance, the face which is far superior to the Lotus in its beautiful perfection, the filament compared to teeth and finally the essence which is the perfume, thus maintaining continuity of comparison. Yantra is a square with all 4 edges ending in tridents at both ends. Bijaksharams Sum, Sum,Sum ( pronounced same as English " sum " ) are placed vertically at the centre centre..
