Guest guest
Hello Everyone, When I was initiated into Kindalini Pranayama, I was told to practice the Khechari mantra (Hrim, Bham, Sam, Pam, Pham, Sam, Ksham) in addition to Khechari Mudra as part of my practice, and has yielded very nice results. But I've always wondered why in some YOGA KUNDALINI UPANISHAD texts there are variations with the Khechari Mantra. Some portray the Khechari mantra and 'Melana' mantra as one and the same (Hrim, Bham, Sam, Pam, Pham, Sam, Ksham). Others specify the Khechari mantra as: Hrim, Bham, Sam, Pam, Pham, Sam, Ksham Then the Melana mantra as: Hrim, Bham, Sam, Sham, Pham, Sam, Ksham (Pam is substituted by Sham in the fourth bija). Yet another version portrays the melana mantra as: Hrim, Bham, Sam, Pam, Pham, Sam, Ksham. Does anyone have any background info on why this ? Best Regards, Charles
Guest guest
These are typical variations between the various paramparas. The proper approach is to use the version given by one's guru. If there is no guru, then the shakti generated will be minimal, and there variations will matter less than the bhava of the reciter.
