Guest guest
I so far have read The Complete Idiot's Guide to Hinduism and the Living Goddess by Linda Johnsen. I really, really enjoyed reading them, especially the Living Goddess. Reading these brings a sense of peace and an ease of tension and questioning in my mind, at least to a degree. Anyone in the group looking to understand Shaktism, whether super novice (like me) or already experienced practitioners, I definitely recommend these books for reading. I even read some excerpts to my mom, about the goddess Kali, and she was impressed with how the author handled her and she herself is a Catholic. She is amazed at how Linda helps portray things to the Western eyes and is now even considering reading the book. I really thank Devi Bhakta and anyone else here who recommended these readings. My mom is even more confident that I am picking the path to knowledge that is best for me (though I definitely have much to learn). I also wish to thank everyone here who have put up with me thus far. ;-) Oh, on a note...does anyone have any differing opinions? I am welcome to keep mindful of different reviews. I am very, VERY happy about these pieces of literature and how much I enjoy them, but I also know that my opinion is not the only one existing. Anything to be mindful of, on a constructive and scholarly level? Thank you for your time. Jai Ma! Christina H.
