Namaste,

Thank you for accepting my request to join. I'm a western Hindu and

have been walking this path off and on for the last 2 years. I studied

Hinduism for quite a few years before that, and was Wiccan during that

time.

About a year ago I had a dream that involved Durga's tiger helping me

to fight off some shadows. I understood this dream to symbolize that

Durga was helping me to destroy my own inner demons. Recently, while I

was chanting Om Shanti I had a powerful vision of Durga.

Because of the dream and the vision I have decided that I need to learn

more about Durga. I now consider myself a devotee of Durga and wish to

learn more about the Shaktic way. Can anyone suggest any good resources?

If you wish to learn more about me, my blog is

http://360./mananatma .

Shanti,

Roy

I forgot an excellent and new resource!

The updated Wikipedia entry on Shaktism -- this is a terrific place

to start, and a fabulously informative article, even for those who

have been hanging around the e-group for a while:

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shaktism

Many thanks to our own Devi Bhakta, who provided much of the content.
