Guest guest
Namaste, Having become a fan of M.I.A. through Devi Bhakta's recommendation quite a while ago, I have also become more aware of the Sri Lankan conflict between the majority and mostly Buddhist Sinhalese and the minority and mostly Hindu Tamils - who are represented in the armed conflict by the Tamil Tigers. It is nice to hear in this NPR report about an example of religious open-mindedness in a conflict that has religious divisions. However I can't help but notice that the open minded Sinhalese translator was " contributing to peace " by building a temple for his own faith for the Sinhalese in a village where it might be resented by the Tamils there. I would have been more impressed if he were building a temple to Ganesha also. Nonetheless, is there any Shakti practice that you know of in Sri Lanka? Just curious. pr , " msbauju " <msbauju wrote: > > > Amid the violence in Sri Lanka, a story > of religious tolerance, featuring this > excellent line: " The shocked incomprehension > of Hindus when confronted with dogmatic certainties.
