Guest guest
[This is a good organization. I received this e-mail this morning -- all they are asking is your signature on a petition; not your money or time. But I'd encourage you to have a look at their homepage anyway and see what you think. Maybe you will like. - DB] MISSING AND NEVER FOUND: THE GIRL CHILD Have you seen her anywhere? Most probably not. And that's not surprising. Because 6.65 million girls are " missing " in India. Being denied the right to life, millions die before they are even born. Of those that are born, 1 million don't see their 1st birthday. Even those who survive are deprived of basic nourishment, education & protection. It is time we stood up and demanded justice. We are doing a special campaign to enlist support for India's girl children. If you feel as we do, sign the CRY's Girl Child Rights Charter. With 10,000 citizen signatures we'll take this to the Ministry of Women and Child Development for accountability and change. Every signature counts, so sign the charter now. SIGN THE CHARTER: http://www.cry.org/mainapp/cryuserapps/gcpledge.aspx or http://tinyurl.com/3y87zm Please do forward this to your friends and colleagues to solicit support for the cause. Guest guest
DB, It asks for a lot of personal information, but doesn't state that that info won't be published. Do you have any insight on this? pr , " Devi Bhakta " <devi_bhakta wrote: > > [This is a good organization. Guest guest
Namaste DB, In addition to Paulie's inquiry, I had one of my own. It states an agreement that whoever fills in the form is an Indian above all else. While it is well and good in general, I am a little concerned that they are asking for natives of India, something that I am not. :-( But on the bright side, it is still a link worthy of posting in this group since it is a critical ethical issue that many in this group can do something about. :-) Jai Ma! Sincerely, Christina ---- prainbow61 <paulie-rainbow wrote: > DB, > > It asks for a lot of personal information, but doesn't state that that info won't be > published.
