just joined -- introduction

I thought that I would write a quick note to introduce myself.

 

My name is Mark. I am in my 40's. I live in Louisiana.

 

I learned about Shakta Hinduism from a friend of mine and his family.

They were from Calcutta. He and his mother taught me how to do puja

and mantras to the Devi. I have been doing puja and devotions for a

little over 20 years now.

 

I do not belong to any particular group at this time, though I believe

that I am ready to do that when I find the right group. Spiritually,

I don't see myself in a group that is not Shakta.

 

I teach Business, Computers, Accounting, and Spanish at a 2-year

college. My companion and I have been together for going on 12 years.
