Guest guest
Pranam. I have a question.:-)) This has been in my mind since I was a kid. We pray to Kali ma and I was always taught that cleaniness and ritual purity was a absolute must. More than for a calmer form of the Goddess. Even as a kid, I always had inappropriate ( as the adults say) questions. ;-)) Kali ma lives, dances and generally has a ball in the cremation grounds. I would think that that would be the most polluting place. So, why is She really particular about purity and ritual cleaniness? With Love Shankaree  Let my every word be a prayer to Thee, Every movement of my hands a ritual gesture to Thee, Every step I take a circumambulation of Thy image, Every morsel I eat a rite of sacrifice to Thee, Every time I lay down a prostration at Thy feet; Every act of personal pleasure and all else that I do, Let it all be a form of worshiping Thee. I am tired of saying this over and over again. Did you see the group... have been existence for more than 5 yrs now. Do you know what makes this group different than others? No.... i do not want to talk abt it. I just let the archives of this group speak for itself. Both of you are rather new in this group. And like many new members, I know your intention is good and you feel its your duty to voice out your concern, for that I thank you. Now this is my humble suggestion. If you both feels that its time to have serious forum and you want to talk abt something, then start someting. You start it first and see weather others will join in. But please do not try to discourage others from talking. If they feel like talking abt sex, then let them talk. Those who wants to read, they read, those who dosent want, nobody is forcing you too. Just ignore the message. But please dont just give suggestion.. . opinion and but no actin. I am tired of people who just talk and talk... do this and do that, but they themselves not doing anything. Action specak better than words. Several have come here and told me, this group have no serious discussion. yeah! i said, why dont you start something ... but he did not. Why always wait for others do to do it. You have sometihng in mind you want to start, you begin, but make sure you complete it and not do it half way, otherwise dont. You see shri Srinivas Rao and Shri Grablaw, my apology if this message of mine sounds rather harsh. I am not a nice peson.. and I do not want to pretend to be one. Guest guest
is not cleniness or otherwise a pure state of mind? Is it not the custom that deals with all this physial cleniness? It is just a customary belief system. There is the story that Hanuman comes everywhere where Rama's name is uttered One day morning he heard " Rama Rama " uttered and went there and saw a villager attending to call of nature while reciting Rama Rama. hanuman was enraged and gave him a slap. When he reached Rama's presence he found Rama nursing a slap to his cheek. Hanuman was enraged and asked who the culprit was. Rama answered " You " . On being questioned he said i am inside every one who recites my name anywhere and everywhere and when u slapped the villager, I took it as at that time he was me. Guest guest
Pranam. Thanx for your reply. Just a bit of clarification, though. When I meant cleaniness, I meant that one should stay away from the puja room when having periods. After the period is over, sprinkling turmeric water throughout the house and stuff like that. My parents were very careful when we were living in Singapore. My sis and I were more lax. Maybe, that's because we always felt that we had more leeway with Her. We were and are kids. So, we get away with murder more often. :-) But, my parents are always held to a stricter scale. I remember my mom telling me this incident. My mom had just arrived from India. A couple of months later, a relative came to visit her in Singapore. My dad had to leave for work. Mom was in the kitchen, making coffee. This relative, being inquisitive just peeked into the bedrooms and the puja room. Now, we were always taught to knock before entering any room. Nothing happened then. Ma is really polite in that way.:-P After the guest left, my mom was in the kitchen washing up. That's when all the dishes started flying and crashing down. My mom got the fright of her life. She ran out of the house and into the neighbour's house. She called my dad and stayed at the neighbour's place till he arrived. It was only later they knew what had happened. So, She is very strict with my parents.
