Guest guest
>Interesting! So is that something you " have done " as with astrology >here, or is it something you can figure out for yourself? What i have done is get readings from several well-qualified jyotishis, who (here in US anyway) will give you a printout of the chart and a table of the dashas and subcycles, so you can be aware of the dates of shifts. I think of them as the epochs of our lives (which western astrology no longer figures in, but once did). You listen carefully to what the jyotishis say about what the planets signify in your natal chart (i.e. Jupiter if not a " friend " may not function as a benefic for you), the aspects they throw, the planetary yogas, the ratings of the houses (don't remember the technical term). You learn all that you can about it, knowing that the many complexities (all kinds of arcane yogas and aspects) may be beyond anyone without a lot of study. Just looking up significations in books isn't enough, and can be kind of weird at times (if you have lots of 12th house planets, they are going to tell you what your bedroom is like: who cares). Nevertheless what you do learn, the spiritual meanings and interactions of the energies, can be really useful for self awareness and transformation, and beneficial to meditate on. I keep track of when the planets, especially the slower-moving ones, change sign (around 24 degrees behind what a tropical ephemeris tells you) which in jyotish means they are also changing houses. You especially watch what sign/house changes the current dasha ruler goes through, and how it is being aspected (as well as what natal houses it rules). Bhukti (sub-period) ruler too. Say a house is lit up by transiting or aspecting Jupiter; you can take advantage of that through working matters relating to that house (somewhat different significations from Western house system, though). You can watch yourself trip: O Goddess here comes a Saturn period, and then discover ways to work with difficulty (Om Durge). What they say is true, Saturn is " good for moksha, " and really does help develop tyaga /renunciation /letting go. Knowing something, at least, about the larger energetic flow is something you can work with.
