Guest guest
hello members members, worship in puri jagannath temple is performed as per the shakta tantras. there is a devi called vimala in the temple complex of jagannath temple. One elderly gentleman told me that prior to the cult of krishna worship in puri, there used to be a powerful shakti cult at puri. To support this statement, he mentioned ashta sambhus (8 siva temples surrounding the jagannath in the city) that are in the city. As per tantra, the devi that is surrounded by ahta sambhus is a powerful place for shakti worship. There is also a Viraja temple at jajpur which is another devi. I am also told that the present subhadra is durga and the krishna and balarama were the attendants of durga who flank on either side. Can the learned members throw some light on Puri Jagannath Temple and its mode of tantric worship which i am told is present till today. What is the secret of sakti worship behind the jagannath temple. Srinivas rao
