In this film, the sacred relationship between Guru and disciple has been ridiculed. For details check the link below. Shri. Guest guest
Dear Ajit: " The Love Guru " is, in my opinion and according to almost all the reviews I've seen, a pretty lousy movie. But it is not anti-guru and it is not anti-Hindu. Rajan Zed began protesting this movie, sight unseen, basically the same day the 60-second teaser clip was released on the Web a few months ago. Mr Zed, whatever virtues he may possess, is also a shameless publicity hound, who would probably protest the sunrise as anti-Hindu if he could get 15 seconds on CNN out of it. Even if his film is not an artistic or commercial success, I do not think you can fault Mike Myers' motivations, which strike me as deeply respectful. This you can judge for yourself. A recent episode of " Iconoclasts " featured he and Deepak Chopra discussing the motivations for the film, which basically concern the disharmony between pure spirituality and those who market and exploit it: http://www.sundancechannel.com/videos/230258546 or http://tiny.cc/wYDrR Another source for the film is the self-help industry of pricey publications, seminars and paraphernalia, and Myers' experiences seeking solace in Eastern spirituality during his father's long illness and painful death: http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=91620730 or http://tiny.cc/WpPKh Whether or not you like the " artistic " (or not) result of Myers' reflections, at least he did his homework and approached his subject honestly and humbly. That is more that can be said of Zed. DB , Ajit Tiwari <ajit.tiwari wrote: > > > Namaskar, > > A film titled 'The Love Guru' has released on 20th June all over the world.
