Guest guest
Namaste Friends: Recently I've been going through some traumatic times being actually homeless at this point in time. I have had some opportunity to spend time reflecting and meditating like Sadhus do, but still I wonder what sense can be made of this tragedy. What sense do things make or what meaning do they have in the whole sense of the universe. An eagle flew over my car while driving and floated about four feet above the vehicle for quite a ways. Does this mean anything? Is it senseless? Does the hush in the forest mean anything? Or is it senseless? Shanti Om, Shankari
Guest guest
Dear Shankari, I'm normally one of those who listens on the convos the group has, and I seldom speak. At the risk of sounding looned, here's a few things: 1. Nothing is a tragedy. It is just an event, a blip. Not a tragedy really. Being homeless is extremely traumatic to say in the least, but it is still better than having a home with no thoughts of homeliness, or even worse, having a house with no joy and peace domiciled. 2. You raised some important questions in there when you asked about silence being senseless. I can only assure one thing. Be prepared to listen to the silence, it speaks more than voices or sounds do. There is a lot of knowledge in the white spaces surrounding letters than in the words they form. And let us not forget as they conjoin to form phrases and paragraphs, they can often be misperceived. The silence requires that you listen. In it there's a symphony, and you must attune yourself, prepare yourself and ready yourself to receive what is spoken, or in any manner transmitted. 3. I live in a desert land, where eagles are reared to follow, and yet, they never do so in the manner you mentioned. An eagle represents Vishnu, the preserver of life in the Vedic Trinity, the role of an organiser in the framework of life. I am led to believe two things. a. You must prepare yourself for many challenges, organise your life, and that is why it flew over your head. b. You must learn to unlearn prejudice, stigma, and fear that arises from within. In which way, and what fears and prejudices, you know some about, and over time, the rest will manifest. The road is not easy, for one is often perceived as being mad, or crazy, or dancing to a different tune, and rightfully so. If one were to be non conformist, its not an easy task, but plod on. You know exactly what I mean. As difficult as it was before you typed those words on that last mail, equally difficult are my replies, for I, am but a reflection of the real you. You counsel, lead, and yet you seek, One must respectfully serve, knowing yet meek.
Guest guest
Thank you for that message. I needed that, and yes I believe the silence carries more messages than millions of words. Guest guest
Thanks Karen. I believe that the eagle had a message and thank you for reminding me of being guided. Sometimes in times like these we sure don't feel like it. Guest guest
" An eagle flew over my car while driving and floated about four feet above the vehicle for quite a ways. Does this mean anything? " Wow. My immediate sense is that you *are* guided in this journey. There *is* sense in what is happening, now, a direction, though you may not yet understand or see it. It is well down the road ahead of you. Eagle is, amongst other things, Vision, far vision, as the eagles have acute sight and can see things clearly that are far off. Trust that vision. Eagle is also of the East, the direction of dawn, new light and new vision. It is the light at the end of the tunnel, as it were, even if right now in your more human sight (which is not as acute as Eagle's is, afterall, and to us things far off are blury at best), that light is just a speck that you may doubt it to be nothing but an illusion. But none the less you are going in the right direction, and your Self knows the destination. Trust it. - " Shankari Kali " <shankari_kali Tuesday, July 29, 2008 1:03 PM Making Sense out of Senselessness Namaste Friends: Recently I've been going through some traumatic times being actually homeless at this point in time. Guest guest
For sure it was a message! Eagle is a very, very powerful Spirit, and doesn't go out of his way unless there is a reason. And eagles don't do things like what you had happen everyday either. What a gift. - " Shankari Kali " <shankari_kali Wednesday, July 30, 2008 11:14 AM Re: Making Sense out of Senselessness Thanks Karen.
