Guest guest
Dear Christina; You have in Sundari Kali's post received some grammars, and dictionaries for Sanskrit. I might suggest this is very dry. I learned under Swami Brahmananda Saraswati (Dr. Ramamurti Mishra, MD). He used to emphasize the central importance of the Bhagavad Gita in Sanskrit. Here is an interesting way to learn Sanskrit. Read every day a verse of the Bhagavad Gita, and learn every word of Sanskrit in the verse. There are 700 verses, and some degree of repetition, so this is not terribly burdensome. If you learn totally one verse a day, in Sanskrit, and understand what each word means, you can get the Bhagavad Gita in hand in two years. Bhagavad Gita is very significant because every important word in Sanskrit is present in it, and every important case and every important number is also present. Here is the Wikipedia article on Bhagavad Gita: Bhagavad Gita - Wikipedia: The Bhagavad Gita (Sanskrit à¤à¤—वदà¥à¤—ीता, Bhagavad GÄ«tÄ, " Song of God " ) is a Sanskrit text from the chapter Bhishma Parva of the Mahabharata epic, ... en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bhagavad_Gita - 171k - Cached - Similar pages - Note this If you scroll down to the " External Links " in this article, you will find Portals and Societies and texts galore. Please be sure to check here as it will save you a lot of labor. I hope this is helpful and if an issue arises, you can, naturally post to our group. It appears several of us know Sanskrit. i send you best wishes and encouragement in learning Sanskrit. Robb
