Shakti puja for peace. [ Into 23th day]

The beginning : " Is there a specific puja one would do for peace? Not

for oneself but for others, just peace in general. I find some of the

tension and violence of the world a little overwhelming. It seems

like, in addition to concrete worldly steps that one would take,

there might be a specific ritual geared to bringing peace into the

warring and violent world "

In progress : The 23rd Day

Shakti Puja for world peace beginning on Monday 28th June 2008 till

21st August 2008. Time will be as follows: 0830hrs till 0900hrs and

again at night from 2330hrs till 2400hrs [Asia Pacific Time. I am

currently in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia] for those who are not sure you

can log into the world clock website to refer:

http://www.timeanddate.com/worldclock/

It will be good if we are able to do it simultaneously. Doesn't

matter where' you're at, weather in the bus, train or at work. Just

take a few mins off and do the visualization and breathing. We will

all merge as one force.

Technique [as per conversation. See below]: :

BN: You just create a group for prayer and then first few days pray

for the individuals in the group, then pray for their families, then

extended families, thus slowly expand to the universe. You will see

miracles. Going straight to universe you will not see results

NMadasamy: Individuals in the group? Shall I ask who needs prayers?

BN: No need to ask who needs. All need. This way you will see results

and thus make your prayers stronger. I suggest for the group first,

then their families, then their chosen People, then the town, then

the country then the continent.

BN: Just visualizing with deep breathing.

NMadasamy: 3 days for individuals, 5 days for their families, 7 days

for the extended families/chosen people, 10 days for the universe?

That is the number I see

BN: ok go ahead.

NMadasamy: What do they visualize? What image should they visualize?

BN: In order not to breach privacy you visualize the problems of

individuals as a shadow over them and see the shadow being lifted and

them becoming radiant and that the problems are solved.

Sadhana must be flexible and stress free. This is the whole idea. If

you find it inconvenient then its okay. There will always be other

days [remember its from 28th July till August 21st. Total 25 days. I

am sure you can manage at least one day, yes!]. You can just come in

spend at least 5 mins if u can spare, do a short one and then move

on. It's the thought that counts.

Why we start from the group?

We must always start from somewhere. But where? How do we all come up

with this idea, its from this group. Its from this group too that we

all come together, we congregate and 'pray' together. This group is

our meeting place... the very point where we all meet [from all the

different direction : North, South, East, West and all the

inbetweens] The very center where the vibration will emanate that

will create the ripple effect.

Let my every word be a prayer to Thee,

Every movement of my hands a ritual gesture to Thee,

Every step I take a circumambulation of Thy image,

Every morsel I eat a rite of sacrifice to Thee,

Every time I lay down a prostration at Thy feet;

Every act of personal pleasure and all else that I do,

Let it all be a form of worshiping Thee. "

From Verse 27 of Shri Aadi Shankara's Saundaryalahari
