Dear Shaktis:

Melmaruvathoor (90 Km South of Chennai) is the abode of Mother

AadhiParaShakti, who has emerged in Trinity Form of Swayambu, The

Mother and Guru. It is called Melmaruvathoor AadhiParaaShakti Siddhar

Shakti Peetam to mark the presence of Siddhar Shri Bangaaru

Adigalaar. As with any other celebration like Thai Poosam,

Aadipooram, Chitra Pournami, the Navaraathri Celebration in

Melmaruvathoor AadhiParaShakti Siddhar Peetam is unique.

The celebration starts with Lighting of Agandam which is performed by

Siddhar Loga Maha Guru Shri Bangaaru Adigalaar Himself with His mouth

in the Karuvarai (Sanctum Santorum). This Agandam will be kept lit

for all 9 days and each one of lacs of devotees will pour mukkootu

oil (mixture of three different oils) into the agandam and watch

their face in the reflection of this oil. This was ordained by Mother

AadhiParaaShakti Herself around 40 years back.

Everyday, Lakshaarchana (100,000 time recitation of AadhiParaShakti

Sahasranaamas) will be performed by devotees. Full 5 course meals is

provided to all devotees visiting the Peetam during these nine days.

There is no charges.

Uniqueness to this Siddhar Shakti Peetam and this celebration are

that there no priests. Every activity from cleaning the restrooms to

doing pooja in Karuvarai is performed by volunteers of Shakti

Devotees. More importanly it is Women who perform them all. In this

Shakti Peetam women are given utmost importance and respect. People

of all caste, creed, religion, gender, etc are treated equally and

have opportunity to enter the Sanctum Sanctorum (Karuvarai or

Moolasthaana)and perform archana, aarthi and pooja to the Mother

AadhiParaaShakti.

All the visitors can have Darshan of Guru Shri Bangaaru Adigalaar (He

is a Siddhar) who holds one-on-one conversations with each and every

family or individual who visits Him(Her).

The Moolasthaana has only Mother AadhiParaaShakti Idol consecrated in

front of the Swayambu Linga that emerged by itself from ground in

1960's (Don't remember exact year, but believe it is 1963).

Accompanying the presiding Deity of Mothre AadhiParaaShakti, Sapta

Kannikaas and Adharvana Badhra Kaali (Prithyangira Devi) are the only

Deities in the Peetam. There are no Navagrahas or any other Moorthis.

There is no rsvps or fees. All are Welcome. Just be prepared to

encounter crowd situation as more than a lac people visit there

everyday.
