I checked the genus/species and I do indeed believe I have the Tulsi plant. Her leaves are all green, not purple and she's quite small at present, but I think she will flourish. I've given her her own special pot and a special place in the house. I also found this video on youtube on doing Tulsi puja. What I found most interesting was not just that it was Tulsi puja but that it was so very straight forward. But I really don't know much about the fellow who put it together or whether or not it is accurate.
