INTRODUCTION:-

 

Sree suktham  has 15 ruks. One has to read any of these sukthas knowing fully

its meaning. When an donkey carries sandal wood on its back [ how the sandal

wood fragrance will not spread to the donkey's body more over its original smell

will be their]

All these sukthas has to be read by the guidance of our elders knowing the

meaning and are to be rendered in proper raga.

 

These ruks are taken from rig veda ,infact ruk means mantra .These ruks are not

written by any human beings.These are eternal truths,applicable to all ages and

to every one, just like 2*2=4 in India as well as in America and if we tell

7*3=79.2*2=29, that is wrong.

 

In the time of veda vysa mantras  scattered hear  and there were brought and

divided into four depending on similarities of the mantras.Sukthams means su +

uktham .Out of these sukthas few are very important such as Sri sukthas ,

purusha suktham ,rudra suktham, illa, bho, neela, suparna sukthams etc.

 

Culture of worshiping of both goddess and god is being right from the

begining.Is goddess first ? god first ? is like the saying of ''Is seed  first

or plant  first.It is a blind question and it is not required to us to know who

is the first,infact both are equally important and primary.It is to know that

both exist together.

 

This  universe is created by Mother through the invisible power provided by

god[pursa] .Infact god and goddess go together ..

 

While worshipping where do we start ? the [ god or goddess]. Infact  Vishnu,

Rudra,Surya,Ganapathi, and many more are worshiped,just as worshipping goddess

but worshipping goddess is much  easier  because we know  her as Mother, 

Mother feeds her milk to baby and take care of the child in all aspects and

there will be an close relation,love . Affection between mother and child will

be not seen in any other relationship.

 

'' KU PUTHRO BHAVATHI''  Son may   be idiot ''KU MATHA'' Bad mother will not

be there. So worshipping of mother goddess is easier,Father may  get angry on

son but Mother will take care of child without expecting anything and we all

know that Mother  is much closer and ready to help the child and forgives his

mistakes. So as so  the Mother goddess is much easier to worship.It is there

fore recommended that one has to start   with Sree suktham   before observing

other sukthas 

 

MEANING :-

 

''Hiranyavarnaa harineem suvarna rajaathastrajam,

Chandraam hiranmayeem jatha vedo ma aavaha.''

 

OM  - the affirmation of truth

 

Jatavedo   -Oh fire [that which I have produced and which in turn informs

me],bring to me

 

Laksmim  - that by which a mark is made , the divine auspiciousness. This

divine auspiciousness is further described as…..

 

Hiranyavarnam –that which is golden hued

 

Harinim – which is fleeting .Harini is also the word of ''deer''. The prancing

golden flames easily suggests the swift movements of the deer.

 

Suvarnarajatasrajam – composed of golden i.e made of gold

 

Candram – pleasing .The moon has the unique capacity to please

 

Hiranmayim – suffused with gold in and out

 

 

 

Hey God of fire,

Request that Sridevi,

Who shines like gold,

Who destroys all sins,

Who wears silver and gold ornaments,

Who is like the moon,

And who is golden,

To come here,

And shower her grace on me.
