Hi, Radhakrishnan,

Your mail was quite instructive. However, I would like clarifications on the

following:

1. Is the Panchopara Pooja same as mentioned by one of the group

members in earlier posting?

2. Has the Nyasa to be performed again after Moola Mantra Japam?

3. What is the mantra for Digvimoga, Dhyana and Panchopchara Samaprpana

Achamanam?

Incidentally, " Digvimoga " is a new word I have learnt. If you can explain what it

means and its significance, it will be be really educative to me.

Hi Hrishikesh

There is a general rule in mantra shaastra that, where we do not know the rishi,

chhandas, devata and mantras for anganyaasa-karanyaa sa, we use the following

procedure:

Aachamanam, praanaayaamam, sankalpam followed by:-

Asya shree shadaakshakshra mantrasya

Parabrahma rishih

Gayatree-cchhandah

Paramaatma Devataa

Hraam Beejam; Hroom Shaktih; Hreem Keelakam (for shakti and kilakam, bija order

is reversed; this is not by mistake).

Shree Subrahmanya Sharavanabhava Swaami preetyarthe jape viniyogah

Hraam Angushthaabhyaam Namah; Hreem Tarjaneebhyaam Namah

Hroom Madhyamaabhyaam Namah; Hraim Anaamikaabhyaam Namah

Hrowm Kanishthikaabhyaam Namah; Hrah Karatalakaraprshtha abhyaam Namah

Similarly, with the same bijas in the same order - hrdayaaya (namah), shirase

(swaha), shikhaayai (vashat), kavachaaya (hum), netratrayaaya (vowshat),

astraaya (phat)

Bhurbhuvassuvarom iti digbandhah

Dhyaanam followed by panchopachaara

Moola mantra japam

Anganyaasa-karanyaa sa-digvimoga- dhyaana-panchopa chaara-samarpana -aachamanam.

I do trust this will be of help.

dear friends,

ive ben iniciated into the subramanya shadakshara mantra .

but im not aware about the nyasas, kara nyasa , angan nyasa etc. ive

searched in many books but they dont have the nyasa for the suddha

shadakshara mantra " saravanabhava " . instead they have nyasas for all

other shadakshara mantra with additional bijaksharas.

my guru told me to do the japa with only the shadakshara

without any bijaksharas attached to. he instructed me to get the

nyasa vidhanas from any books or other knowledgable persons as he is

bedridden.

i dont know where to get them. if anyone can help me out

in this matter i would really indebted to them. plz help.

thank you

Answer to first question:

Panchopachaara puja also known as maanasapuja is as follows:

Lam (rhymes with 'come') Prthivyaatmane (prthivyaatmikaayai) gandham samarpayami

(draw the tip of the thumb from the root of little finger upwards-to be done

with both hands)

Ham (rhymes with 'come') Aakaashatmane pushpaih pujayami (draw the tip of the

index finger over the thumb from its root upwards)

Yam (rhymes with 'come') Vaayvaatmane dhoopam aaghraapayaami (draw the tip of

the thumb over the index finger from its root upwards)

Ram (to be pronounced as 'rum') Agnyaatmane deepam darshayaami (draw the tip of

the thumb over the middle finger from its root upwards)

Vam (rhymes with 'come') Amrtaatmane amrtam mahaanaivedyam nivedayaami (draw the

tip of the thumb over the ring finger from its root upwards)

Sam (rhymes with 'come' - to be pronounced like 'sum') Sarvaatmane

sarvopachaaraan samarpayaami (make anjali mudra with both the hands joined

together palms and fingers touching one another in the normal namaskaar sign)

Second question:

Yes, Kara-anganyaasa-dfhyaanam to be performed at the end of moola-mantra-japam.

Third question:

Panchopachaara is already dealt with.

Dhyaana-shlokam corresponding to the adhidevatra will differ according to the

japam.

Digvimogam is the opposite of digbandham. Mantram is the same -

Bhurbhuvassuvarom. Say 'iti digvimogah' while doing digvimogam. Digbandham is

done in this manner:- Crackling with the middle finger and thumb of the right

hand in front of your face, to your right at shoulder level, at the back (near

the back of the neck) and to your left at shoulder level circling the hand

around the body clockwise - no short-cuts. Digvimogam is done anticlockwise

starting in the front and going through the left side.

Samarpanam is dedicationg the japam to the Devataa. Shlokam for this is given

below.

Guhya-atiguhya-goptaa (goptree for female deities) tvam grhaana-asmat-krtam

japam;

Siddhir-bhavatu me deva (devi) tat-prasaadan-mayi sthiraa.

Aachamanam - sipping of water from one's right palm.

For most of the Devataas, it is done three times, saynig Achutaaya Namah (sip

water), Anantaaya Namah (sip water), Govindaaya Namah (sip water).

In Shaakta-kramam, aachamanam is done 4 times -

Aim-Aatmatatvam Shodayaami Swaahaa

Kleem-Vidyaatatvam Shodayaami Swaahaa

Sauh-Shivatatvam Shodayaami Swaahaa

Aim-Kleem-Sauh-Sarvatatvam Shodayaami Swaahaa

Aachamanam, mudras for

anga-nyaasa-kara-nyaasa-maanasa-puja-digbandham-digvimohgam are all difficult to

acquire by reading written instructions though they are all very very simple

procedures. Further, there could be minor variations according to one's one

sampradaayam. Mind you, all sampradaayams lead to the same Devi, no one

sampradaayam is greater than or superior to the other. We while following our

own sampradaayam look upon other procedures with respect and awe and some times

imagine that the other is more imaginative and more effective. While doing our

saadhana with a member of another sampradaayam, we sometimes try our hand at

adopting theirs.

Ooooofffff........

I think I have answered your queries.
