Guest guest
On a serious note, though last time I played the monkey, I think some straight talk is needed.  Though there are some texts deal with mantras to achieve this or that material aim, what the books do not say is that the mantra is to be used by a Mantra siddha - one who has attained the complete mastery over the mantra - to get any results. If some results are seen otherwise it is hap stance or the act and the time coinciding.  I am 58 now. I have been handling mantras since the age of 16. I will not even dare say that I am siddha in anything let alone a mantra. Yes!! I have attained unique positions in material world - they came almost naturally. I had and have regular set backs. I never use mantras to get over problems other than prayer and some stotras. I have been tempted more than once. I have started too. Then good sense prevails and I let go trusting in HER. I remember my guru's first instruction " NEVER ever use mantras for personal gain; you may get it and later regretâ€.  I have used mantras to clear the anguish of fellow beings, normally without even telling the recipient whether I am doing anything or not. When it is completely anonymous and without any motive other than pure love, I have seen amazing results. Anonymity is essential, as development of ego itself, can be a block in attaining results.  Many a time I just alleviate and not cure because the mind says this is a karma that the person has to go through. Then I lessen the impact.  I am human, so I am at times or rather most of the time – impatient and am tempted. The best victory is the victory over the temptation. --- On Sun, 3/8/09, Kluber <vivekkvn wrote: Kluber <vivekkvn Re: Fw: Devine remedies needed Sunday, March 8, 2009, 10:43 AM Dear Jignesh, Before becoming a successful business man, I guess the whole idea would be to understand the concept of success and its relevance to you! \vivek , Jeegnes C <jeegnes > wrote: > >  > Dear Shakti sadhak, >  > I shall be very grateful to receive some remedies or mantra to be successful businessman forever in time of need. >  > Jignesh > > --- On Sat, 2/21/09, jeegnes <jeegnes > wrote: > > jeegnes <jeegnes > > > > My sincere Pranam to devotee of shakti, > > Like you all, I strongly believe in devine help which made me ask you > all devotee of shakti to help me accomplish my wish of being suceesful > businessman. > > Since i have completed my graduation from mumbai university in 1996 i > have been earning my engaged in employment & i wish to be independant > busineesman. Guest guest
I forgot to add one more fact. As I said in some case as happstance things happen. This is because in the process the person attains siddhi i the mantra. Guest guest
I have a question. I apologize if this question sounds too dumb...I am a novice in the sphere of Sadhana.  What is the difference between stotra and mantra? I am familiar with a couple of Devi Stotrams and mantras. I've understood them as stotras being longer and mantras shorter. I never really understood the true difference between both. Could you shed some light on this?  Another question, I often keep hearing that if it is your karma it is best to go through it rather than attempt to change it. Yet there seems to be this idea of pleasing planets with incantations to reduce your bad karma.  Sankarji, in your post below you mentioned that we should never use mantras should never be used for personal gain. So is it wrong to ask Divine Mother/other dieties for help through mantras?  Thank you, Bob --- On Sun, 3/8/09, kochu1tz <kochu1tz wrote: kochu1tz <kochu1tz Re: Fw: Devine remedies needed Sunday, March 8, 2009, 6:31 AM I forgot to add one more fact. Guest guest
I read Kochu's addendum, and got a little confused. I sought clarification, and he, as always, patiently explained it to me. I have repeatedly been advised to not treat sadhana as a vending machine: you put something in and get something in return immediately. Thus, I'd like Kochu's message to be clear to as many as are truly interested in understanding this mystical machinery. :-) He said, " One starts reciting and reciting and suddenly he attains siddhi due to previous karma, and result manifests. That's happenstance; or when the kaala and karma match, also, results follow. That too is happenstance. If either of these does not happen, (and there is) no result, then a skeptic or virulant disbeliever is born. " , " kochu1tz " <kochu1tz wrote: > > I forgot to add one more fact. Guest guest
Stortras are for singing praise of the Gods. Stotras are long because they are descriptive of the form or the deeds of the God. Mantras on the other hand, are the essences of Gods. It is the general idea. Some stotras are mahamantras themselves. Stotras also contain esoteric meanings and interpretations of mantras. Bad karma...yes one has to suffer it, if it is one's own making. But there are karmas which are inherited. Both types, have to be suffered by some individuals in the ancestory. But, there will be one janma (birth) when the bad karma will come to pass. At that time, the individual will have/given the opportunity to do good deeds and worship appropriate Gods to clear of the remnants of bad karma. Mantras for personal gains can be chanted. But, it requires enormous rigor in terms of rules to follow. Sometimes carry a hefty price if it harms anyone while providing the want of the person for whom it is chanted. Asking for divine help is accepted. " I'm going through this situation, I need help/guidance. Please help me. " Place the request at Her feet and forget it. It is not your problem anymore, it is Hers. Chant mantras, stotras. But, chanting a mantra with a sole aim of achieving something material or spiritual (specifically siddhi) gets a bit tricky as mentioned above. Owing to the power of mantras, good things will happen without even asking. , Robert Partick <robertpartick wrote: > > I have a question.
