Guest guest
Namaste, I was looking at a website that has a gif that changes and I can read the first inscription but I am not sure of the second. The first is Jai Maa Durga. I think that the second is: maa apki manokaamanaa puri ke But I'm not sure, and I'm also not sure of the translation. The website is here: http://www.mysoretourism.org/chamundi%20hills.htm Any help is appreciated. pr

Guest guest
Namaste Kochuji, I appreciate your help. Looking at it now I see some of the words making more sense to me. Maa of course is the Mother. Apki means yours. Manokaamanaa must refer to desires or wishes and puri ke has to be the verb that means She fulfills. I think it is sanskrit rather than hindi, but in my studies of hindi I understood the " ke " to be a kind of preposition like in or on. Do you know if this is Sanskrit or Hindi? Again, I appreciate everyone's insight on this. I love the words even more. pr , sankara menon <kochu1tz wrote: > > I think > > First means Victory to mother Durga > secodn means May Mother grant you your wishes. > > > --- On Tue, 2/24/09, prainbow61 <paulie-rainbow wrote: > > prainbow61 <paulie-rainbow > Need translation help! > > Tuesday, February 24, 2009, 9:25 AM Namaste, > > I was looking at a website that has a gif that changes and I can read > the first inscription but I am not sure of the second. > > The first is Jai Maa Durga. > > I think that the second is: maa apki manokaamanaa puri ke > > But I'm not sure, and I'm also not sure of the translation. > > The website is here: http://www.mysoreto urism.org/ chamundi% 20hills.htm > > Any help is appreciated. > > pr > > > > > > > > > > > > >
