Guest guest
ONE WITH NATURE   When was the last time you observed sunrise ? Did you enjoy the full moon last week ? How many times in a month do you go to beach in your city ?    Man is a part of Nature. His physical and mental growths do depend on nature. If he moves away from nature, and shuts himself in the concrete jungle of house and work place, with no intension to feast on the resources that are so vital for his growth, how can we except him to grow at all ?     Go to nature. She teaches you .Be one with nature .She recharges you.Loose yourself in her lap. She comforts you.  Take time to observe the sunrise, sunset and moonrise at least once in aweek or two.  Are you fortunate enough to have a front yardlawn in your house ? Then walk bare foot in the lawn in the early hours .     If you take a morning walk, go to a near by garden and sit calmy on a bench, or better still on the grass, observing the dew drops on the leaves, the flowers moving in the early morning breeze, and  the tall trees with rich foliage, listening to the chirpy birds hurrying from one tree to another and the whistling wind, and enjoying the careness of the light and wind of the dawn on your body.Watch the squirrels, lizards, pigeons and parrots, and laugh with them.Talk to the flowers, leaves ,buds, birds and bees, and ask them to share their, secrets with you.Ya , and they would oblige you !    But what to do if you are unable to do this for any reason such as living in the midst of the city in a multi stored building with no park or greenery in the vicinity ?     Take heart. We have a solution .           Paste posters depicting the snow glaciers, thehigh mountains, the green woods, the gurgling streams, the enchanting wild or any other scenery in your house .Spend sometime looking at them, mentally visualizing as if you re in those place.Touch themgently  Observe the early morning light if not thesun rise from your flat.   Still, our advice is, take time to go to Nature.  Even if it’s a circuitous road, take the beach road or canal road now and then to reach your home or work place. Stop a minute on the way and watch the sea or canal. If you see a  house on your way that has greenery all round it, stop a minute and enjoy the sight.                             Sneha and Surya are both IT professionals working in reputed softwarecompanies in Hyderbad. As their two kids Rahul and Ramya don’t find any time to spend with their  parents during the week, they have reserved the weekend Saturday for going out. They usually go to the Tank Bund or public Gardens. The kids eat their favourite chat masala, drink pepsi and play wile their parents do some shopping.  Good, as we have asked ! But no, it isn’t what we have in mind.Do you go to public gardens to eat ice-cream or chat ? If you want to eat, go to the nearby restaurant.Want a drink ? The pan –shop is round the coner.Have you missed reading the morning newspaper ? Go to the library. The public Gardens isnot the place where you eat, drink, read or sleep. You go there to enjoy the beauty of nature , nothing else.    We have to learn to focus on what a place is supposed to offer to us.When we don’t, the sight seeing and picnic spots become nothing but eating joints.  Draw a flower. Draw a tree. Draw a bird. Draw a land scape. Do this once in week. Read travelogues. Write a few lines about any picnic you attended and describe the place. Read Wordsworth,Keats and shelley, translation of Kalidasa ,potana etc.  ‘’I go to nature to be soothed and healed, and to have my senses put in order.’’                                         \                                         \                   -John Burroughs   COURTESY-Dr.I.Srinivas garu [MIHIRA]   Regards Bharathi.A
