The rain is my guru

Today she falls

all over me

and the land is greening wildly

and I did not even realize how much I missed her

later she will go away again

I live in a dry land

I have to water my little plants and trees

all by myself

I try to remember the generous rain

I try to be like the rain

The longer she is gone

the harder it is to remember

and sometimes the land is overcome by fire

or I am overcome by forgetfullness

and the tender things in my care die

but the rain is my guru

and she has come again.

Thank you for such beautiful & heart-connected words. I'll read them often.

That's sweet, Paulie, thank you.

I can almost smell the raindrops.
