Guest guest
Om Durgaya Namah! I am very interested in the churning of the Ocean of Milk, and how Lord Shiva drank some poison named Halaahala or KaalakooTa. The poison turned his neck blue so his name is Nilakantha. I am looking for a gramatical and archetypal explanation of Halaahala or KaalakooTa. Is anyone a little familiar with the sanskrit meaning, and the psychology or alchemy of these substances? Please explain if you possibly can. Robb
Guest guest
Namaste, A wise sahdu told me once that Halaahala translates metaphysically as " Duality " . Shiva maintains this poison in thevishuddha chakra, allowing him to understand how people can suffer, but not get entangled in it himself.
