Perhaps what msbauju meant to say is that what we know of each other is filtered through the net, without ever seeing or hearing each other, and in some cases as we have seen, people misrepresenting themselves. But i agree with you that the connections we forge in this way are very real, and i have made friends with people online that i later met in person, and who have helped me in various ways, and vice versa. The net is amazing not least because of its international reach and the ability to connect with like-minded people we would have never met any other way, to learn and to broaden our experience and even to break down our preconceived " realities.
