Guest guest
I could use some help. Where can I purchase an audio CD of the Ganapati Atharva Shirsha, chanted nicely with musical background, perhaps with English translation. Other mantras, gayatris, bhajans and kirtans can be on the CD as well, but I'm particularly looking for a complte recital of the Atharva Shirsha. I'm also looking for the text, Sanskrit transliterated in English, of the shloka thanking Bhumi Mata (Mother Earth) for supporting us desite our putting our feet on her sacred body. This should be every Earth-dweller's " pledge of allegience. " Your assistance would be appreciated. -- Len/ Kalipadma

Guest guest
is it not Samudra vasane devi? Samudra vasate is not gramatically correct(?). If it were samudra vasite, it may mean one who resides in Ocean. But is it not that she who has ocean as vasana or dress?? i wonder.............. --- On Wed, 8/5/09, Kulasundari Devi <sundari wrote: Kulasundari Devi <sundari Re: Seeking shlokas -- Ganapati & Bhumi Ma Wednesday, August 5, 2009, 6:26 AM I can't help you with the first, but the latter I say every morning before I place my feet on the ground. samudra vasate devi parvatastanamandale vishnupatni namastubhyam pada sparsha kshamasva me O Goddess who dwells in the ocean, Whose round breasts are the mountains, I bow to you, beloved wife of Vishnu, Please forgive me for touching you with my feet! jai MAA -kulasundari On Tue, Aug 4, 2009 at 4:00 PM, Len Rosenberg <kalipadma108@ >wrote: > > > I could use some help. > > Where can I purchase an audio CD of the Ganapati Atharva Shirsha, chanted > nicely with musical background, perhaps with English translation. Guest guest
I remember, that I used to recite it as " Samudra Vasate " years ago without knowing it meaning only by observing my mother. 1. Mahavishnu resides in Milk of Ocean (palaazhi) along with his wife(s) OR whether we get any other meaning if we divide " samudra " as " Sa " + " Mudra " . asking only out of curiosity. sreekumar On Wed, Aug 5, 2009 at 1:27 PM, sankara menon <kochu1tz wrote: > > > is it not Samudra vasane devi? > Samudra vasate is not gramatically correct(?). Guest guest
Sorry for my tardiness on responding to this... I learned this as " vasate " but it's everywhere on the internet as " vasane. " For that matter, I've seen variations of other sections of the mantra as well. For me the " vasate " version coming to me the way it did ended up being perfect, as I grew up with a special relationship with the ocean, so personifying the ocean as MAA is powerful for me. So I think it can happily be either. jai MAA kamesvari mata -kulasundari Sri Kamakhya Mahavidya Mandir www.kamakhyamandir.org On Wed, Aug 5, 2009 at 1:40 AM, Sreekumar <nairvps wrote: > > > I remember, that I used to recite it as " Samudra Vasate " years ago without > knowing it meaning only by observing my mother. > 1.
