Guest guest
" Quantum Monkey is based on the " Hundredth Monkey Theory, " which has demonstrated that once critical mass is achieved, profound changes can take place. This theory developed from actual observations of monkeys on islands in the South Pacific. After World War II, the Japanese took possession of several unoccupied islands in this region. The soil proved to be ideal for growing vegetables, which they cultivated throughout the land. Despite their success with farming, the Japanese encountered a problem they hadn't anticipated. The monkeys living on the islands were delighted with the new foods and began to raid the fields. To deter them, the farmers began giving the monkeys sweet potatoes. They would take the sweet potatoes down to the beach -- as far away from the fields as possible -- and dump them there for the monkeys. To the monkeys' dismay, the sweet potatoes were covered with sand, which they had to spit out with every mouthful. This unpleasant practice continued for some until one day, on the island of Koshima, eighteen-month-old female monkey was observed washing her sweet potato in the ocean. Her mother noticed, and soon she too began washing her sweet potato in the ocean. Gradually, more and more monkeys on the island began to imitate this ritual, particularly the youngest ones. Researchers named and tagged the monkeys and continued to monitor their behavior. Within about five years, approximately fifty-eight monkeys on Koshimo were regularly washing the sand off their sweet potatoes. As it happened, an identified monkey took one of the sweet potatoes and began washing the sand off it in the ocean. This newcomer was dubbed " the hundredth monkey. " By that evening, almost all the remaining monkeys in the tribe were washing their sweet potatoes before eating them. The added energy of " the hundredth monkey " had created an ideological breakthrough! But this was not all. The researchers observed that other colonies of monkeys on nearby islands -- monkeys that had never seen another monkey wash sweet potatoes in the ocean -- mysteriously began washing their sweet potatoes as well. Thus the theory evolved that when a critical number of individuals achieves an awareness, this new awareness may be communicated from mind to mind. Although the exact sum may vary, the " Hundredth Monkey Phenomenon " means that when a limited number of people know of a new way, it may remain the conscious property of these people. However, there is a point at which if only one more person becomes attuned to this new perspective, an energy field is strengthened that allows this knowledge to be available to almost everyone. " (www.quantummonkey.com) The courage, awareness and actions of SYs are needed now in order to announce Shri Mataji's Message of the Last Judgment to all, and reach the 101th Monkey Phenomenon. Even Shri Mataji wants at least 16,000 SYs in North America and when this is achieved Sahaja Yoga will spread in leaps and bounds. We have to reach a critical mass before anything significant is going to happen. The subtle system method of trying to spreading Sahaja Yoga has been flogged for the last 20 years, with few realizing that the horse is long dead. But still we try to give it life with out countless bhandhans, shoe-beatings and havans. It just is not working in North America and won't work because yoga factories are mass producing teachers who give the most imaginative names to their brand. Most people join yoga to better their physical appearance and calm their minds to soothing music as they sit on designer mats to go through their favorite poses. Compared to this heavenly atmosphere in commercial yoga studios public programs for Sahaja Yoga are spartan and strange (These people want you to feel the cool breeze, can you believe that? Who cares or gives a damn about cool breeze? ...... must be typical replies). Thus why should the average North American be dumb to fall for a ploy like cool breeze? What do they know about Kundalini, chakras and subtle system which even after nearly a decade in Sahaja Yoga i have yet to understand? Even the vast majority of Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs know nothing of the subtle system. i once asked a learned Sanskrit scholar about Sahasrara, chakras and kundalini. His puzzled face spoke a thousand words. He was frank to admit that he NEVER came across them and have no idea what they are. But the Last Judgment, Comforter, Al-Qiyamah, Holy Spirit, Adi Shakti, Jagdamba, Kingdom of God, Avatar, Durga, Ruh, Maitreya (to name a few) are known and identified by almost all, depending on their traditions. If i were a Christian the word Last Judgment or Comforter will make far more sense that agnya chakra and shoe- beating. My attention and curiosity will be much aroused and if the connection is made between the Last Judgment and cool breeze i would definite linger longer to find out this Knowledge of Reality which has been brought forth for the first time in human history. If i were a Muslim and if the connection is made between Al-Qiyamah and 'your hands will speak' i will also become more receptive to Shri Mataji's declaration that it is the Resurrection. So its time for SYs to take out our heads out of the sand and look around. The false gurus are prospering because they pound their chest and table in announcing who they are and the salvation they are delivering. Even the Raelins, who claim to have cloned a human and believe that extra-terrestrials gave birth to humans, have thousands of foot-soldiers who can convince others of their belief. Right now they have about 5,000 South Korean followers, to name just one country. i am quite sure that there is not even a single Sahaja Yogi there. SYs have tried practically every means to spread Sahaja Yoga. Let the major and much announced 1999 American public program " Sahaja Yoga is a stress reliever " fiasco be a lesson for all that we have practically run out of options. In that year nearly US$50,000 were spent and Yogi Mahajan was at the forefront. It failed miserable and even Shri Mataji was critical of the exorbitant cost that yielded so little returns, if any at all. There was another far smaller project carried in Montreal, Canada to bring stress relieve for victims of a ice storm sheltering in churches. This also was an abject failure. We have groped in the darkness long enough. Other than declaring the Truth i find no light at the end of the tunnel. i wonder what would have happened to Christianity if the disciples of Christ, under threat of horrific Roman torture and death, had just enough courage to declare that He was a very good carpenter. jagbir
