Guest guest
Dear Jagbir, Thank you for drawing attention to the section of the website. I have only recently discovered and have been working my way from the top down. It doesn't seem as if scholars realise that the power of Sri Sita and Draupadi comes from their chastity, does it? The equate it with determination or something. There is a wonderful translation, from the Hindi, of the Sri Adi Shakti puja talk from Jaipur (94.12.10) where Sri Mataji gives a detailed explanation about this and how the Burka is worn not for modesty but because really chaste women can turn unchaste people to ashes with the purity of their glance. Someone recently remarked that the change of seasons in India is still predictable within a day's accuracy because of the security of the respect accorded to the housewife. Of course most people here in the West still see innocence as something which is more fragile than anything, certainly not as the prime absolute quality. I used to enjoy James Lovelock's books in the 70's and marvelled at the confidence of feminists and hippies then who spoke about worshipping the Great Goddess. I couldn't imagine how we would know the protocol or how to make a suitable altar etc. Thank God Sri Mataji knew who we were and where to find us! (My mistake about the space was in being intimidated by the blue line descending to within a millimetre of the lower edge. Sorry about that.) Jai Sri Mataji. Lyndal. Lyndal, i left Malaysia for Europe at the age of 20 and was a hardcore hippy from 1971-73. There was a lot of talk and discussions of how to alter consciousness through drugs. i did meet many hippies who were more compassionate, spiritual and conscious than the rest of humanity. We were all disillusioned with the way the world was then and given the state it is today, are amply vindicated. But our easy way to 'enlightenment' was a fool's paradise. Unlike lifelong sadhus and fakirs who sometimes take 'ganja' to explore the Divine, we hippies slowly lost our focus and became addictive and hardcore (LSD, speed, heroin, cocaine) ......... and that search for heaven on Earth was over. The problem is that westerners invent the shortest route on a spiritual journey and along the way jettison most of the baggage that carries millennia of honored tradition. That is why the same sadhus and fakirs are still depriving themselves of the basic necessities of life that senior ex-hippies on welfare take for granted. But the saving grace is that the Adi Shakti knew hippies tried and that is why She dedicated the poem " To My Flower Children " to them. Unlike religious organizations, nations and world leaders, they were sincere in their hearts of hearts to better the world and live peacefully as one big family of brothers and sisters. Now the Great Goddess is one Earth and revived the primordial ritual of worshipping Her. The only path to Her is from within, where She resides in the Sahasrara. Lyndal, She has found you because you were searching for Truth. So enjoy the rest of your life in Sat Chit Anand ........... of which She is the Primordial Cause.
