" So there's a very big difference between a statue (idol) and a photograph because My attention is there. Of course, even the statues which are created by Mother Earth (Swayambus) also have vibrations and they also show they have vibrations, but they cannot give you the awakening of the Kundalini because My photograph has My Desire also in it. They cannot. If they could (idols and swayambus), Stonehenge would have. " Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi " According to a video shown by Catholic seminaries through out the world, the first sculpture of Christ was in the form of a small boy holding on to a sheep. Now, everywhere in the world, people have pictures of Christ according their culture. A loving young white man in USA, a tough man looking like a judge in Russia, a nice black man in Africa and a man looking like a typical man from China with a sheepish beard in China. I RESPECT ALL THOSE PICTURES. Believe it or not, ALL OF THEM ARE IDOL WORSHIPS. To begin with Hindu scriptures do not recommend the worship of the idol as God. As the German philosopher, author Max Muller wrote, " The religion of Vedas knows no idols. " Hindu scriptures very clearly state THE IDOL IS NOT A SUBSTITUTE FOR GOD, BUT ONLY A MEANS OF MAKING THE MIND CONCENTRATE ON GOD. An idol in a church is exactly like a cross in the church. Both help men to focus their devotion to God. " Posting - 8/16/00 6:44:45 AM Tiger, The above is a post copied from the internet. i can assure you contrary to what is posted Hindu Scriptures never mention about idols. In all the Puranas and Vedas you will not even find a single sentence about idols, less their worship. There is absolutely nothing to support the worship of idols. i will give you all the time you need to check with all the pandits and scholars regarding idol worship. Just ask them to point the verse, out of hundreds of thousands that make up the Vedas and Puranas. They will not be able to produce even one. It is all a falsehood which empowers brahmins to act as middlemen between the masses and the gods, and idols were used for this purpose. i used to meditate of a beautiful idol of Shri Ganesha in the early years of SY. One day the realization came, something to the effect that " If you know Me, why do you have to worship My image? " That was the last time ever i bowed to an idol. If i know how Shri Ganesha looks like why do i have to make an idol? If you know how Shri Shiva is why bow to an idol? Nowadays i cannot even enter temples where idols of Shri Krishna or Radha, or any deity for the matter are worshipped. If no Hindu scripture cite idol worship, why is it so difficult for them to admit this Truth? It is an indoctrination that is difficult to discard. So Tiger, you are far better off worshipping the deities within than the idols without. regards, jagbir
