Please forgive me for not replying earlier. i am agreeable with your suggestions and have given you all freedom to do as you wish previously. i am sure SYs web designers will give us the best options. i wish to let you know that i am no web expert and for this reason i am posting your email to me so that others can give their advise. Thank you. jagbir ----------------------- Jai mataji, Jagbir! I am sorry for not being in touch for so many days. I was out of Mumbai for more than a month and I had no access to computers. But now I am back in town and ready to work out further. Please tell me the progress. I had posted translated material to the forum for review, along with details of viewing them. But I received no comments. I will consult the experts for putting the material on line and I will send you the details very soon. I have a friend who is web designer and has joined sahaja yoga very recently. He can guide us thoroughly & free of charge. In the meantime jagbir, please try to think over the ways to make the hassles of viewer easier. Because normally computers do not have preinstalled fonts for non-english language, hence we will have to provide the viewer the option to download the required font and guide them to install the font in their computers. To be more elaborate, we will provide a button, labeled " click here to view hindi version " on the home page www.adishakti.org. When the user will click on that button, a short message will be displayed on the screen prompting the viewer to download the required font i. e. sanskrit99.ttf. The message itself will provide 3 options to viewers i. e. yes, skip or cancel. If the viewer clicks on yes, downloading the font will commence along with the directions showing them how to install the fonts, set the resolution of screen & C. If the user clicks on skip, the hindi page will be displayed using the default font available on the viewer's computer in which case, the page will look funny. If the viewer clicks on cancel, the program will return the original home page in english. This is the rough idea of programming. But this programming is not user friendly because it is somewhat cumbersome. Therefor if you go for intelligent programming, a large number of viewers will be attracted. The intelligent programming will involve (after clicking on " click here to view hindi version " ) auto detection of font sanskrit99.ttf on the viewers computer and commencement of downloading the sanskrit99.ttf and installing it automatically on their computers. After the installation is complete, the hind version on the screen will appear automatically. Please wait for further details. Yours Mukesh. Guest guest
Many Indian language web sites are now using dynamic fonts embedded in their pages which overcomes the problems associated with downloading the fonts to each user's computer. Software colleagues regard the Marathi newspaper, eSakal, as a good example of this usage: http://www.esakal.com JN > Because > normally computers do not have preinstalled fonts for > non-english language, hence we will have to provide > the viewer the option to download the required font > and guide them to install the font in their computers. > To be more elaborate, we will provide a button, > labeled " click here to view hindi version " on the home > page www.adishakti.org.
