SYs who are well versed with the subtle system should try to answer your request. Over the years i have found that the best way to eradicate catches and other problems with the subtle system is not to pay attention to them throughout the day i.e., remain thoughtless as long as possible and try not to dwell on the reasons, or feel guilty. If they still persist then during meditation i put my attention on the affected chakra and ask the Adi Shakti within me to help. The success rate is 100%. i think the excessive attention SYs pay to curing catches with elaborate rituals is regressive to spiritual growth. The very act of putting so much attention itself retards progress as i know 1980's SYs who are still battling their negativity. It is just like treating the ordinary cold, pimples, dandruff and sore throat as if they were serious infectious negativity that required surgery, organ transplant and social rehabilitation. Sure, no SY will go to that extend if they have a cold or dandruff because everyone knows how petty these problems are .............. ....... and no doctor will remove the larynx to rid the sore throat. The trouble is most SYs do not know how trifle catches are, regarding their cure as essential and a yardstick to measure their ascend. Curing catches is a growth industry and over the years quack SYs have invented patented cures for all sorts of subtle system problems. That is why I coined the term " constant chatter of catches " , which can be experienced during any collective get together or meditation. The more SYs chatter the more they are bound to be affected by this malaise because even newcomers are conditioned to be ever vigilant, alert and self-conscious of catches. Then there are these insidious bhoots perched on window ledges or sniffing at mooladharas. I do not know if there is any treatment from these invisible creatures who, if my history is correct, were responsible for starting the Inquisition and ridding humanity of hundreds of thousands of witches. At one time SYs became so fearful of bhoots that Shri Mataji had to admit that She made a mistake to ever talk about this form of negativity. Why? …………………….. because SYs just gossiped a petty personal problem that may have affected a few possessed seekers into an epidemic that soon spread to all collectives. The more they talked about bhoots the more these pesky creatures attacked SYs. Thus the more we think about catches the longer they will continue to plague us. However, most will just go away if we regard that they are, like the common cold, quite common. Seek attention only for more serious afflictions. jagbir

Hope all SYs would agree, as I'm happy this time to agree with Jagbir (but for the 100% success to which I don't pretend, unfortunately.) Though, the description of the SY collectivity below seems to me a little outdated, it could be said that we can as well use our enlightened, selective attention to avoid people's obsession/identification with catches and bhoots, without rejecting in principle their need to be so. Simply some people seem to need it. As long as it is kept in reasonable bounderies and it is not used to justify or encourage weird behaviours... Regarding " techniques " in general, I found a good (but not absolute) criterion is the enjoyment they provide. I really enjoy many SY practises that my rational mind finds silly and a certain stern spiritual immanentism in me would tend to ridicule. Anyway if we recognize spiritual ascent is much above human apprehension, why not " techniques " ? My humble reaction to the Mooladhara/Right Heart problem is to wonder whether the link between the two problems is relevant. If it is felt so, the common ground must be " Power " and its possible misuse in relationships.
