In every generation there have been those who went away on their own, sick and tired of not knowing the Truth and roaming about in this world of losers. They would seclude themselves, sit on their butts, and put attention on God/spirit, discarding everything else. And they would not give up until they attain enlightenment and emerge victorious. Victorious over what? Over themselves. It is all about human mind cheating itself to no end.
