Guest guest
Muslim supplications for peace and brotherhood Compiled by Jason Erb, Council on American-Islamic Relations Prayers should open with Surat al-Fatiha: Praise be to God, Lord of all worlds The Merciful, the Compassionate Master of the Day of Judgment It is You alone we worship and it is You alone we ask for help Guide us to the straight path, the path of those upon whom you have bestowed favors, not those against whom You are angry, nor of those who are astray. A Muslim Prayer for Peace Oh Eternal God, we pray for the souls of those whose lives are so cruelly snatched away in violence and war; we know that you receive them tenderly into your loving embrace. Oh Compassionate God, we humbly ask you to comfort their families, loved ones and all of the anguished and help us to find peace in times of chaos and crisis. Oh all-Loving God, help each of us recognize our human kinship to each other and instill your love in all of our hearts. Oh God of Protection, show all people the way to protect each and every human life from acts of brutality and inhumanity. Oh God, the Restorer, let all us work hand in hand to restore our faith in each other, our faith in doing the good, and our faith in the promise of peace. Oh God of Unity, we pray that you help Muslims, Christians, Jews, and all people of faith to unite against all sources of evil and take a firm stand against enmity, hatred, injustice and divisiveness. Oh He who is Truth and Light, let the truth of your message of peace bring the light of wisdom and patience to all of our hearts. Oh Most Generous God, let us all give generously of our selves, our time, our skills, our financial resources, and most importantly our prayers to the daunting task of assisting the victims and rebuilding cities, countries and societies wracked by war and conflict. Oh God all-Wise, plant the seeds of true wisdom in each of our hearts so that we may come to truly love each other and respect each other as you teach us to do through your prophets and your revelations. Oh God of Hope, remind us all that hope is like the most determined flower that springs up in full bloom even in the harshest of environments. Oh God of Peace, help us to always remain hopeful that truth, justice, mutual love, respect and peace will prevail despite the efforts of those who conspire against it. Certainly God's mercy and justice is everlasting, but the acts of His creatures are ephemeral. Noha Bakr, September 11, 2001 (revised March, 13 2003) " The world is in turmoil today. People everywhere are anxious about the future. What they need is the soothing, uniting, elevating spiritual message of Sahaja Yoga. They have to be enabled to experience " Self-Realization " and thereby attain inner transformation. Only then they will begin to regard all human beings as members of one large human family regardless of their race, culture etc. Only then will they discard hatred and violence. Sahaja Yogis have a momentous responsibility at this crucial time in human history. They have to spread Sahaja Yoga in all the parts of the world by written and spoken word. For this purpose, a well thought out approach is needed. I entrust this crucially important task to a new " WORLD COUNCIL FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF SAHAJA YOGA.
