UN Secretary General Kofi Annan said the decision had been taken in view of the worsening security situation. He was addressing a special session of the UN Security Council after the worst violence since the 1999 Kosovo war. Local council chairman Lokwi Adome told AFP news agency that 160 herd of cattle were stolen during the weekend attack. The explosion, which happened as a UK military patrol was passing, killed four civilians but it is not clear if one was the bomber.
