Guest guest
" It is not often that " saffron " [of Hinduism] meets " green " [of Islam] in post-Godhra Gujarat, however two religious scholars took on the task at a seminar on peace organized by the Lion's Club and Idara Khidmate Khalk. Islamic scholar and theologian, Maulana K. R. Sajjad Nomani said a majority of Muslims do not know what their religion stands for. " Muslims themselves have misinterpreted Islam and its practices. A modern and scientific religion is today looked upon as the refuge of fanatics. The Muslim community has to do serious introspection and educate their fellowmen on the true essence of Islam, " Nomani said. He appealed to Hindus not to believe the wrong notions about Islam. " Just because somebody says that Islam is a religion of fundamentalists, don't believe it. Find out for yourself before making a judgement, " he said. Guest guest
Thank you Jagbir for this post. Although short - the message is clear that the " problem of " Hinduism and Islam(or any religion for that matter) lies not with the religion per se but with the false interpertation - like what Shree Mataji has always been saying. In relation to your previous post where you mentioned about the new Malaysian PM winning the elections and deserving the win - if I may dare say so he won the elections almost singlehandedly.Malaysia has 30-35% of population which is non-Muslim. The most wonderful part is he did so inspite of being known as a devout Muslim. The main difference between him and the fundamentalist Muslim party(PAS) leaders was that he actually lives by the principles of Prophet Muhammad SAW and everyone (Muslims and non- Muslims) loved that.To our PM, Islam is a way of life and his responsibilty is to God - and we all know God can never do wrong. The bulk of the majority Muslims rejected the fundamentalist Muslim party (PAS). President Bush , Israeli PM Sharon , Hamas/Arafat or any country for that matter can learn a few lessons from him and the elections. 1)Using brute force will not beget good results(The Mughal emperors tried it with Hindus in India) 2)Practice what you preach - USA policy at present " speaks with a forked tongue " .Palestinians seem to have no right to human rights. 3)Be a devout Muslim, Christian, Jew etc and practice the true teachings and you can still win the hearts of people of other religions. Our PM's honesty, humilty , respect for all , family values , dedication to God and respect of other religions , loyalty to friends and valuing friendship based on human values rather than wealth and stature is exceptional. His hatred for anything evil be it corruption, vice, laziness and all the negativities we mention during havan is very well known. Last but not least although we SYogi/nis are blessed by Adishakti , our PM is just one of the many many human beings out there who would make a better SYogi/ni than a number of us(me at least). I agree with " Even after discovering the truth that Brahman is within i have never considered the depth i have achieved even remotely sufficient for enlightenment. I really hope most SYs are of similar humility.
