I heard many times after leaving that the guru was telling people I would be back - this made me laugh becaise I knew I would never, ever go back. I did feel a connection still there for a long time but as I continued in my own spiritual study, I became more and more aware of what a joke Chinmoy is and of how pathetic his spiritual philosophy is. That helped me to sever any inner connection that may have remained. Now, since reading the testimonials of the three women who inspired the setting up of this forum, I have definitely dispensed with any remaining respect I may have had for the man. It is an old one, but each time it is revisited, it evolves. I am happy for all those who contributed to this. Your happiness makes me happy. I was thrown out after what seemed like a lifetime, but when counted was only 7 years or so. My experience was different, since I felt that being thrown out was my fault and my guilt was huge and crippling. Only after finding this discussion group was I freed from my guilt. And I guess it could be said that I was ready to hear the truth and drop my burden. Thanks to all who have ever posted on this topic and other topics. It's a control thing. It's much more empowering to leave than to be asked to. In my case I kept wanting to leave and he kept changing the " rules " for me so that I'd stay and that sort of jerk around went on for about a year until I indicated to Disharini in Ottawa when she told me to go to NY to see " Guru " to heal my ills, that it didn't work for me that way. Sitting at the guru's feet had never been a panecea for what ailed me and I never saw chinmoy in that light....he wasnt' a cure all....well that got reported back to chinmoy and it was then that Ashrita called me and said I had to leave. I was sad, and called everyone I knew and then I went to New Brunswick to have some down time from all of this...the day I arrived I had a message from Prataya saying that chinmoy said I could come back. I told her I was releived that it was all over, that finally the decision had been made and declined the invitation, but it wasn't until this forum that the ties that strangled were severed. What a huge relief and in the short time that since I found this board, my life has changed in so many postive ways it's like Life was waiting for me and all of a sudden everything changed and I feel just great, and getting better all the time " Every day in every way we're getting better and better " Sri_Chinmoy_Information/message/7135
