Guest guest
Jai Shri Mataji! Just came across this beautiful post: Sri_Chinmoy_Information " terraaustralis01 " <terraaustralis01 Sun, 12 Sep 2004 23:03:29 -0000 [sri_Chinmoy_Information] Re: overwhelming sadness Even though the Gospels have Jesus saying that none are fit to become his disciples unless they hate their father and mother, one must be very careful in the interpretation of such passages. I believe that what Jesus was trying to get across is that attempts to gain security through attachment to things which are temporary are ultimately futile. To help seekers find things eternal he was describing the mindset necessary to be applied to earthly things. However, in the spirit of resurrection, people who could develop such detachment found themselves in a position to love their families more deeply, and not in a clinging way. Jesus also taught things like, " if your right hand causes you to sin, chop it off " . Of course, these things were not meant to be taken literally. They were said to illustrate how tough it is and how important it is to break through an encapsulating mindset and achieve real and lasting freedom. Such sayings often shock readers and listeners, which I'm sure was intended. Sometimes a shock can be helpful in breaking down an unhealthy mindset. --------------- Was just wondering if SYs can break free from the decades-old encapsulating subtle system/chakra/treatments mindset and achieve real success in spreading Shri Mataji's message of the Great Event ordained for humanity to attain lasting freedom? jagbir
