Ý surrender my this > > problem to Shri Mataji also .... i don't know when it > > will be solved ? > > JSM > > It will be solved when we SYs start explaining to others that every scripture confirm the God Almighty exists within as the Light. Whether it is the Bhagavad-gita, Koran, Bible, Granth Sahib or any other, they all agree on this collective truth. It is the priestly powers that keep humans from finding out about their true nature within. Not only do these priests have no such esoteric knowledge but they also keep the masses in ignorance and divided as well. Each and every church, temple, mosque, gurdwara, and synagogue ensures none of their flock leave to learn about other religions and their messengers. Thus those who deny the legitimacy of other religions, their messengers and scriptures will never be able to participate in the Great Event. Jews, Christians and Muslims are waiting for the End. The Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs are trying to escape the relentless rebirths in samsara and attain moksa. Until and unless they understand the Divine Message of the Adi Shakti and follow it unconditionally none will realize the depth of deception they have been led into over the centuries. And once you understand the message you will realize that you need not move a single step in any direction to know God (Brahman/ Allah) and His Spirit (Shakti/Ruh). God Almighty exists within you in the Kingdom of God (Sahasrara/Niche of Light). So why look for Him in churches, temples, mosques, gurdwaras, synagogues? Once you know the truth you will never want to return to the falsehood and conditionings of these religious regimes again. When you have finally understood and accepted all religions, scriptures and messengers why return to the hatred and divisions of these organizations? The Divine Message of the Shakti informs and empowers all His children to free themselves from the shackles of organized religions. But just surrendering this problem of spreading this Divine Message to Shri Mataji will not solve much. (You only surrender if it is beyond your power to solve a particular problem.) But you can make a difference if others learn about the collective truth that unites all religions. The more we SYs expose humanity to the Divine Message of Shri Mataji the more believers will surrender to the Truth. The websites detailing this Divine Message have already been set up. They are an open book and challenge to all guardians of religious regimes — priests, pastors, reverends, bishops, popes, rabbis, clerics, imams, mullahs, shaikhs, ulema, ayatollahs, gurus, swamis, pandits, brahmins, acaryas, bhagwans, granthis, gianis, lamas, monks, dalai lamas — to rebut and prove Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi's message of the Kingdom of God, Resurrection and Last Judgment false. Now five years have passed and not a single person has taken up the challenge, especially the Muslims. i am specifically mentioning the Muslims because they very alert and guard their religion and revered Qur'an with their lives, and will never allow anyone to go against established doctrines. But Shri Mataji has turned Islam and Christianity on it's head by exposing the falsehood of the Last Judgment and Resurrection. None of them are able to speak a word in disagreement and their silence speaks volumes. These are the people that must be exposed to the Truth because the Shakti in entrenched in all scriptures, barring none. The vast majority of Muslims, Christians, Jews, Hindus, Buddhists and Sikhs are not the least interested in chakras, catches and cures. They want to know about their scriptures and God, which is exactly what the Divine Message is all about. Once they know their own divine nature, and that the God that exists within them is the same as that in their religious rivals, all hostilities and divisions between humans will end (i mean among those who comprehend this priceless but difficult truth). Don't SYs think it's about time this chakra charade should end? They should know by my infamous calculation that, at the present rate of progress, the subtle system will take another 6000 years to just reach 1% humanity. 1% OF HUMANITY BY 8000 AD !!!?? ONE PER CENT IN ANOTHER SIX THOUSAND YEARS!!! If this is not a crisis than what is? Surrendering the problem to Shri Mataji will not solve anything. Taking up the responsibility to expose humanity to the Truth will go a very long way. Once the critical mass is reached the Divine Message will burst onto human consciousness. So SYs should put their energy and attention towards realizing this crucial goal. Do not let the murmuring souls put fear in your hearts and doubts in your minds. Defeat this negativity by being your own master and seek guidance from the Adi Shakti within. The Divine Message must be announced at all cost because you will be judged by your dedication to uphold the Truth proclaimed by the Shakti. Don't let the priestly powers fool you into compromising your integrity, duty and dharma. There is this ingrained fear and twisted logic among many SYs that the truth will scare off people. i want to ask these people why has Shri Mataji announced the Truth in public for three decades if it is supposed to scare of people? Can those SYs who believe and convince others that the truth will scare off people give me an honest answer please? There can be no greater hypocrite as the one who believes in the Last Judgment and Resurrection, and yet do not want to tell others because he/she has no courage to stand on this truth despite overpowering conviction. So be careful of those who want to hide the Divine Message from humanity. If Shri Mataji wants the whole world to know of the perilous times we humans are in, what is the nature of the negativity that works against Her? If the Last Judgment is the battle between Good and Evil what is the force that wants humans to remain in ignorance of the Divine Message, even as the world continues to witness the decay, death and destruction of humanity? There is something very, very wrong and sinister about this pervasive silence. i want no part in perpetuating this sinister silence when Shri Mataji Herself has announced the Truth in public for three decades. Something indeed is very wrong. If these forces are able to convince us to remain silent while She is still on Earth what will happen when She leaves? That is all the more reason that the Divine Message must be urgently announced and those SYs working towards this end be resolute and steadfast in their determination. Never in human history have the stakes been higher as they are now. Those who truly believe they have descended along with the Adi Shakti to do the work of the Divine must wake up. They must know She watches from within and will destroy all obstacles and negativity for those truly dedicated to Her Cause. So let those who fear telling the Truth keep on playing with their subtle system toys. Just don't let them inhibit and put fear in you that the Divine Message will scare off people. These people are liars and cowards who project their own fears onto others. Don't listen to them when they tell you the Truth will scare of people. If that was the case Shri Mataji would never have spoken about the Last Judgment and Resurrection in public. After all, the Truth scares off people. That She has spoken hundreds of times to so many seekers over the last three decades about this Divine Message is ample evidence these SYs are not telling the truth. So do not be misled by those who claim the Truth will make people flee. 99% have left after the short introductory subtle system course in Sahaja Yoga. That is what causes the vast majority to leave. The Truth has never frighthened them because they have never heard it being explained in the first place. If they had there would have been far more believers participating in the Last Judgment and Resurrection than we have today. Any SY may twist and turn this reasoning in any way but the fact will always remain that the Truth was never told in the first place. We must take responsibility for our own failures, learn from them and make the drastic changes necessary to ensure the triumph of the Adi Shakti and Her message to humanity. The only way left is to tell the Truth and not listen to those who believe it will scare people off. There is an Arabic proverb which says that of the four kinds of people, three of which are to be avoided: 1) those who don't know that they don't know the Truth; 2) those who know that they don't know the Truth; 3) those who don't know that they know the Truth. Only the fourth is to be cultivated and that is those who know that they know the Truth. jagbir

I hadn't seen Sean in several months, and we caught each other up with the various dramas of our lives over eggs and toast, stuffed animal noises, and hot tea served in a pair of recently pilfered I.H.O.P. mugs. After I left his apartment it was off to Harvard Square, where I wanted to try a free " Sahaja Yoga " class I had seen advertised on a flyer. Hmm? What's that you say? Oh – you want to know about the stab wound. Well, for the full effect you really need to be looking into Sean's earnest, bespectacled face while he's telling the story, but I'll ease your minds by telling you that he didn't really mean to stick himself with a sleek, sexy, razor sharp stiletto knife. He did, however, purposefully purchase a sleek, sexy, razor sharp stiletto knife as a thoughtful Christmas gift for his younger sister (Yes, she liked it very much. No, she's not an amateur Jet.), and show her three different ways to open it. The third way, if you're Sean on Christmas Eve 2004, involves a trip to the emergency room. Also six stitches, a rather impressive scar, and some physical therapy. Plus a couple of blurry yet gruesome pictures of the wound taken on your picture-phone, which you cheerily allow your unsuspecting guests to discover whilst they are clicking through other equally blurry (but considerably less gruesome) shots of your family, your girlfriend, and cute little stuffed rabbits. Perhaps you're beginning to see why after an afternoon with Sean a person might be in the market for a little Yoga. I'm just kidding. Sean is a wellspring of energy, love, and imagination, even when he is hobbling around on crutches and dealing with sundry other emotional disasters. My life put me in the market for a little Yoga. Which is why, at 6:30 this evening, I find myself changing into a pair of comfy gray pants in the bathroom of the First Church in Cambridge and walking into a large room smelling vaguely of sandalwood and filled with four rows of plastic orange and blue chairs. This is the first odd thing – what are chairs doing in a Yoga class? How will we find the room to do the Downward Dog, or the supported shoulder stand? Where are the mats and pillows? Are we going to contort ourselves into knots while somehow using the chairs? The mind boggles. Ross and I sidle into the back row and take off our coats, covering our confusion by peering intently at the copious number of informational pamphlets arranged on a side table. I count at least a dozen different booklets, brochures, and photocopied handouts, most of which contain helpful diagrams of the location, type, and significance of the seven chakras of the body, and life-histories of Shri Mataji Nirmala Devi, the smiling founder of Sahaja Yoga. I find all this information a little overwhelming, and the person who appears to be in charge – a small, dark-haired man in his thirties dressed, perplexingly, in a checkered shirt and pants – is whispering to someone in a leisurely manner that suggests we are not quite ready to begin. I decide to put the handouts away and get a head start on clearing my mind by sitting silently in close observation of the physical objects in the room, without judgment. I take note of an open piano behind me, a small sink in the left corner with a rubber tube extending from one of its faucets, seven large burnt-red windows, and a rolling chalkboard facing the chairs that bears the somewhat cryptic notation " 2048/4096 = 1/2. " Hmmm. " Two thousand and forty-eight over four thousand and ninety- six equals half. " … Yup. Sure does. Fair enough, then. Ok, chalkboard, check. One portrait of Shri Mataji in a gilded frame, check. One lighted red candle, check. … I wonder why that's on the board, though. All by itself, right in the middle. It's not like there are any other remains of a lesson on ratios. What if it isn't left over from a math class? Maybe it's a mantra. Maybe Douglas Adams was wrong and the answer's really " 2048/4096 = 1/2, " not " 42. " Maybe we're supposed to meditate on it while we do our strange, chair-sitting yoga. I try quite sincerely to understand the deeper spiritual significance of the statement, but while it does seem quite beautiful, in a mathematical sort of way, and provokes some dimly profound notions about what other true equations I could write, enlightenment eludes me. I turn to observing my companions on the path towards peace and flexibility. They include: • Ross • a couple of other twenty-something females nervously scanning brochures • a tall, bone-slender Nordic blonde in cowboy boots and extremely tight jeans (why am I the only one wearing comfy grey pants?) • a tiny young Chinese woman in black who tiptoes in, peers around at all the bowed heads, and whispers to Ross, " It hasn't started yet, has it? " I like her instantly. • several people who seem to be regulars, including a rather regal lady in her forties and an ethereal looking hippie chick who appears about seventeen. Finally, at about a quarter of seven, the gentleman running the show glides shyly to the front of the room. He is a neat and very compact person who does not resemble in any way the only other Yoga instructor I have ever encountered (the toothpick-thin and frighteningly flexible Jesse of KarmaYoga). In a light, pleasant accent that I cannot quite place (possibly Russian), he welcomes us kindly to the " very special " practice of Sahaja Yoga and invites the newcomers in the group to tell him where we heard about tonight's session and also to describe why, if we don't mind, we came tonight – to say what it is we are searching for. I start to think about that question, and realize that there's no way I can answer it truthfully without weeping. So I gaze beatifically into the eyes of Shri Mataji while the quiet grows. Finally the tiny Chinese woman is brave enough to offer that she's looking for " a kind of calmness, " and the brunette next to me breathes, then hesitates before explaining that she wants to find out if there's " something more to being human. " The teacher smiles at us compassionately and nods. He explains that Yoga can certainly help us find inner peace and a greater understanding of the human capacity, and that it is a path towards what he calls " self-realization, " or enlightenment. He goes on to declare that most people in this country today who " spend a lot of time standing on their heads " don't understand the true meaning of Yoga, which aims to transform the practitioner's spiritual state of mind, not teach them how to bend their bodies about. The physical exercises are simply a means to an end, and true Yoga, he says, is really about achieving a meditative state. The people who " stand on their heads " (here he smirks slightly) have bought into a commercialization of Yoga. It's not false, but it has magnified out of proportion something that is only a small part of the real nature of Yoga. I am suddenly extremely conscious of the expectations that my comfy grey pants must be broadcasting. I am also mildly irritated by the trace of condescension in his manner, even though some of what he's saying seems to make sense. Still, I am here, among other things, to work on becoming a less judgmental human being – so I try to simply take in what he is saying. The next part of the instruction is a brief introduction to chakras, " energy centers " in the body through which the " mother energy, " called Kundalini, moves. Kundalini, the teacher says, is a divine feminine power that enters the foetus at some point during pregnancy and lies dormant unless it is awakened. Again, dear readers, I try very hard just to absorb his words without judging them. It is not as if I have all the answers about spiritual peace. Next he talks us through an illustration of the seven chakras and the spiritual qualities they represent, and describes how each chakra may become blocked or dirtied, leading to physical, emotional, and intellectual malaise. Meditation, he says, causes the Kundalini to " rise " through the chakras and clear them, leading to self-realization. Now we are ready for a round of meditation, led by Ethereal Looking Hippie Chick. She asks us all to take off our shoes and close our eyes while she talks us through a series of exercises in which we lay our left hands palm-upwards on our knees, touch our right palms to our chakras, and utter silent mantras to ourselves in which we address our Kundalini energies as " Mother. " Improbable as it sounds, by this point I am getting good at accepting the experience for what it is, without criticism, and I find myself slipping into a very calm, very focused, rather peaceful mental state. I can feel tears pricking my eyelids when, palm pressed to forehead, I am instructed to say, " Mother, I forgive everyone, including myself. " After about twenty minutes I am feeling pretty good. I certainly wouldn't call this enlightenment, but maybe it's a start. Then, it all falls apart when Ethereal Looking Hippie Chick tells us to put our right palms several inches above our heads and " check to see " if we feel a cool breeze under our palms, a sign that the Kundalini has risen through all of our chakras and we have gotten our self realization. Oh – but maybe, it will be a warm breeze instead. Or just maybe, a tingling sensation in one or more of your fingers. Um. I dutifully put my hand above my head, but I've got nothing. I wiggle my fingers. Still nothing. I open my eyes to squint at my fellow peace-seekers. Everyone is frowning in concentration, hands hovering over their heads. I suppress the desire to giggle, because, dear readers, I am STILL trying to be in the moment and live this experience with an open mind. Nothing? Not even a tingling? Well, try saying the last mantra again. Or maybe rub the top of your head gently. This helps the Kundalini to rise. Okay, Shri Mataji, now you're making me cry. My life doesn't afford me sufficient opportunities to feel like a fuck-up, now you're telling me that I need to generate a cool breeze above my scalp to prove that I meditated right? Damn you, Sahaja Yoga. You and the bone-slender Nordic blonde, who saw " green and violet light " during her meditations…. overachiever. I have to say that my attempts to clear my mind and achieve " thoughtless detachment " went downhill after that, even though I stayed for the " workshop " part of the session where the teacher stands behind you, whispers to you to relax your shoulders, rubs his hands together, draws counter-clockwise circles above your head, and tries to get your Kundalini to rise while breathing heavily, causing you to finally say, in complete desperation, " Um….. I guess the air on top of my skull feels sort of cool. And um….The ball of my left palm is kind of a little warm. Maybe. " When we got home, I went to the Sahaja Yoga website, where I discovered that you can actually receive your self-realization " even as you sit in front of your computer! " I felt like a bit of a chump. Going all the way to Harvard Square when I could have gotten enlightenment from the comfort of my living room sofa. http://sonic.wordnerd.org/blog/index.php?p=54#comments ---------------------- This is important: " I went to the Sahaja Yoga website, where I discovered that you can actually receive your self-realization " even as you sit in front of your computer! " I felt like a bit of a chump. " These people will never know about the Divine Message to humanity. And they also have left, like the 99% over the years, without ever knowing the Truth. Perhaps if the official Sahaja Yoga website had been truthful and given information about what Sahaja Yoga was actually about perhaps they may have continued. (Where is all the vital information that Shri Mataji has given in hundreds of lectures since the 1970s till today?) Now they have left thinking Sahaja Yoga is some sort of a " strange, chair-sitting yoga " , and will tell others of their disappointing experience. How many more thousands of seekers do we have to lose before it becomes obvious the Truth will prevail? Did Shri Mataji come to preach this " strange, chair-sitting yoga " to humanity? Is that all they can find out from our public programs and websites? jagbir

Your comment made me remember my first experience of my self-realization. I received my self-realization through official web-site (www.sahajayoga.org). And you were right. At the first time I just could not surrender it. And thought it might be dangerous... But... somehow I was attracted to it. and before trying the self-realization, I prayed to God Almighty that whatever happened I surrender to Him (Her). And instead saying " Shri Mataji " or " Mother " , I actually said " Thian " (the word of God Almighty in Confucian, since I am used to be a Confucian). Somehow it worked!. The cool wind was on top of my head for about a week. And it stopped. At that time, I began trying to seek another SY at my location. However, as you know, Sahaja Yoga was only promoted as an ordinary Yoga stuffs, .. and If I did not stumble into Jagbir's site, surely I could not know and finally recognized that Shri Mataji is the Adishakti and Her divine messages. Without the Jagbir's adishakti.org, I might have been surely fallen into the trap of the hatred-fully ex-sahaja-yogis. Just a self-intropection. " Ask any absolute question " She suggested. The first question " Is there God? " was answered, to my great surprise, by a tremendous flow of vibrations coming in my fingers and palms. I asked many such questions and was blessed by clear answers; the answers " yes " comes as an increase in vibrations. I asked " Is such and such guru a realized soul? " The answer " No " came as a burning on the finger tips. Sometimes the whole hand felt very hot and heavy. I realised that this vibratory awareness was establishing a rapport, an actual dialogue with the Divine. What an amazing attainment! I got answers to various questions, even questions pertaining to my own relatives and friends. Other Sahaja yogis, small children who are born realised, were getting the same answers. The experience was more than convincing. HH Mataji used to illustrate it in the following terms: " You all are like a computer assembled, organized, and fitted through your evolution, reaching at last the stage in which you are ready to be plugged into the mains. When the Kundalini gets connected with the Universal Consciousness, you can have a direct communication with REALITY. " After all, if the Universal Unconsciousness has to speak to Mankind there are basically two ways. It can communicate in dreams, symbols, intuitions; and it can incarnate as a human being to bring into full light everything that was unknown and unexplained, thus switching on a continuous " communication current. " Grégoire de Kalbermatten, The Advent - Testimony by the Most Veracious of Witnesses The Noble Qur'an makes it clear that the testimony given by sinners in the court of divine justice will be utterly unique in nature, bearing absolutely no similarity to the juridical procedures of this world. The verses of the Qur'an that speak of the giving of testimony on the day of resurrection proclaim that the hands, feet and even the skin of the sinners will disclose the hidden sins that they committed during their lives and that were previously unknown to all but God; the sinner will stand revealed, to his utter dismay and terror. The animation of these witnesses and the testimony they will bear to the events that have happened in the world show that all the deeds we perform are recorded both in the external world and in the various organs and limbs of our bodies. When the conditions of this world are replaced by those of the hereafter, on the day when, as the Qur'an puts it, " secrets are made manifest and none will be able to conceal anything or seek help from anyone. " (86:9-10) all the deeds that have been recorded will pour forth and begin to bear witness. We can indeed observe in this world a pale and feeble example of what is meant by things acquiring speech. A doctor, for example, understands the language of the body. The rate of the pulse may indicate fever, and yellowness of the eye proclaims the presence of jaundice. To give another example, we can tell the age of a tree from the circles within its trunk. It is nonetheless true that we cannot know the exact modality of the testimony that will be given in the hereafter. However, once the veil is lifted from men's sight, their power of vision will increase and their level of perception will be raised. They will embark on a new life with enhanced means of perception and will see many things that surrounded them in this world although they were unaware of them. Thus the Qur'an says: " You were in a state of negligence; now We have lifted the veil from you so that your sight is today keen. " (50:22). Other verses speak of the multiplicity of the witnesses that will come forward: " Let them fear a day on which their tongues, their hands and their feet shall bear testimony against them. " (24:24). " A day on which all the enemies of God will be drawn into the fire as they stand next to their destined abode, their ears, their eyes and the skin on their bodies shall testify to the sins they have committed. They will address their limbs in astonishment, saying, `How do you testify concerning our deeds' They will answer, `God who gave speech to all creatures has also given us speech. First He created you, and now He brings you back to Him. You concealed your ugly deeds not in order that your ears, eyes and skins should not give witness today, but because you imagined God unaware of what you hid from other men. It is this groundless assumption that has brought about your perdition, for today you are in the ranks of the losers. " (41:19-23). This verse stresses that man is unable, in the last resort, to conceal the sins he has committed with his limbs. This is not because he under estimates his bodily form, which in the end turns out to have been a means for recording his deeds, but because he imagines that things are essentially autonomous and that much of what he has done will be beyond the reach of God's knowledge. It is this unawareness of the fact that nothing in creation is hidden to God that casts men into the pit of eternal wretchedness. The Qur'an further proclaims: " Today We place the seal of silence on the mouths of the unbelievers and transgressors. Their hands shall speak to us, and their feet shall bear witness to what they have done. " (36:65). Imam al-Sadiq, upon whom be peace, said the following in clarification of this matter: " When men are gathered together before God on the day of resurrection, everyone will be given the record of his deeds. When they see the list of their crimes and their sins, they will begin to deny them and they will refuse to confess. Then the angels will bear witness to those sins having occurred, but still the sinners will swear that they have done none of the deeds of which they are accused. This is referred to in the verse, `On the day when God shall resurrect them all and they will swear lyingly to God as they once swore lyingly to you' (58:18). It is then that God will place a seal on their tongues and cause their bodies to begin speaking about what they have done. " (Tafsir al-Qummi, p. 552) Irrefutable witness Even more remarkable is the fact that the deeds man has performed will themselves take shape before his astonished eyes. This must definitely be regarded as the most veracious form of testimony possible; it closes off before the offender any defense, deception or flight from chastisement, and strips him of denial and sophistry. No crime remain unproven, and the sinners will be overtaken by shame and humiliation. The Qur'an says: " On the day of resurrection they will find whatever they have done confronting them. " (18:49). Or again: " There will be a day on which everyone who has done a good deed will find it confronting him, and those who have done evil will wish that it were kept far distant from them. God warns you against His punishment for He is in truth compassionate toward His servants " (3:30). Since it is impossible for deeds to disappear in the hereafter, the most that sinners can hope for is that a distance be maintained between them and their deeds, a clear expression of their disgust with what they them selves have done. In addition to all the forgoing, and still more important than it, God describes Himself as the witness to all the deeds of men: " Why do they not believe in the signs of God? He is a witness to all that you do. " (3:98). The Qur'an also mentions the prophets and those who have drawn close to God as witnesses to man's deeds: " The earth will shine with the light of its Lord. The record of men's deeds will be brought forth and the prophets and the martyrs shall be summoned to bear witness and judge among men so that none shall be wronged. " (39:69). It should be borne in mind that such witness and testimony will not be restricted to the outer aspect of men's deeds. What is meant is rather testimony to the quality of deeds with respect to their good or their evil, and whether they represented obedience or sin: in short, the inner aspect of deeds. The giving of witness on the day of resurrection is a sign of honor and respect for those who are called upon, but it also indicates that while in this world they had a certain awareness of men's inner beings, that they were able to observe them just like their outer beings and thus to record their deeds with precision and inerrancy. It is obvious that conventional knowledge and sense perception are quite inadequate for testimony of this kind; it depends on a more profound mode of awareness that is able to embrace the inner dimensions of man, an awareness that transcends our normal capacities and permits an unfailing distinction to be made between the pure and the impure. Such testimony is based upon a clear vision of reality, and as such it is infallible. The Qur'an says: " Tell men that whatever they do God will display to them whatever they do, and the Messenger and the believers are aware of it. Then they shall return to God Who knows the hidden and the manifest, so that they will be requited for their good and their evil. " (9:105). According to commentaries on the Qur'an, what is meant here by " the believers " is the Inerrant Imams from the Household of the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him and his family. They are distinguished from other Godfearing people by the special grace and favor they have received from in that they are both inwardly pure and have been utterly purified by God. It is for this reason that the giving of testimony in the hereafter has not been vouchsafed to all men of piety. Imam al-Baqir, peace be upon him, said in a certain tradition: " No group or class of men can bear witness to the deeds of men except the Inerrant Imams and the prophets of God. The generality of the community has not been described by God as witnesses, because in this world there are people whose testimony cannot be trusted even for a handful of grass. " (Tafsir al-Mizan, Vol. I, p. 332) All the deeds of men have a profound effect on their beings. If someone knows that injustice and crime are sinful but nonetheless engages in them at the behest of his instinctual nature, a contradiction will arise in his inner being that will burn and torment him profoundly. But is it not he who has created this contradiction? If envy gnaws away at a man's inner being, is anyone responsible apart from himself? Imam al-Sadiq, upon whom be peace, said: " Sin cuts more deeply than a knife. " (Bihar al-Anwar, Vol. LXXIII, p. 358) All of our words and deeds are stored in the vast and mysterious archive of our body and our soul, and they will be brought forth in the tribunal of resurrection. The totality of our acts, good and bad, are stored up within us and will ultimately take shape to confront us. The reckoning of men's deeds that will take place in the hereafter will, then, be utterly unique. No one may hope to obfuscate the truth or to deny the contents of the precise record that is laid before him. Everyone will be compelled to accept the truth and to submit to its consequences. The hands, the feet and the skin will be called on to give witness; God from Whose knowledge not at single atom in the heavens and earth is hidden and Who is aware of the falling of leaf from a tree, will also be a witness; and the prophets and the Imams will bear their witness to whatever we have wrought. It is obvious that it is impossible for us now to understand and perceive fully all these dimensions of the inevitable reckoning that will follow resurrection.
