Guest guest
(copied & pasted from Shri Adi Shakti Forum Index) Dear Violet Thank you very much for putting things in perspective. Yes things are clearer for me now. " In SY you are advised to become your own guru. Has any false guru every advised that? I think Shri Mataji as a Mother would, wants us to become our Own Guru. How unique. But how Motherly. Don't all mothers want us to grown up and not follow every other person, but become our own individual self-confident personalities? " Yup you are right in this, false gurus only want you to bow before them and never teaching you to be your own guru. Yes even Jesus mentioned we could possibly do more than him. How humble and how he made us we like are worthy of being his equal. John 14 I tell you the truth, anyone who has faith in me will do what I have been doing. He will do even greater things than these, because I am going to the Father. " We are meant to support and respect our leaders, but we are at the same time our own gurus, and if a leader tries to take on a role of " guru " towards you in SY... you can know... that that is not the SY way. The best and only person we really need to please is the Divine within. When we please the Divine... we please others. No one should want to dominate us, you see. If they have a need for domination, right away they have their problem. (read what Shri Mataji said in the Forum " The Collective " ... on the topic " About - Dominating Personalities " .) " Agreed again, we have to distinguish what is rite sometimes thru our guru principle as just because what the senior SYs do, may not necessarily be " rite " sometimes. " It is the organism that is the " spiritual life " . That is why Shri Mataji has often said that to be a leader means nothing... it is an office that needs to be fulfilled with humility and is a 'test'. It is a 'test' because when a person starts to think that they are some sort of a 'leader'... that is the beginning of their downfall... usually. " In Mark 9, Verse 35, the disciples were arguing who is the Greatest? To which Jesus says: " Sitting down Jesus called the Twelve and said, " If anyone wants to be first, he must be the very last, and the servant of all. " Yes i suppose its not easy on the ego bit esp. when one is holding senior positions in the council. Humility is one difficult thing to practice. " It is what is in the heart within. To be a SY inwardly as well as outwardly... In Samuel 16:7 it says... " But the Lord said to Samuel, 'Do not look at his appearance or at the height of his stature, because I have rejected him; for God sees not as man sees, for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart " . " Yes that's true, also we are told the " kingdom of god is within us " , thus the transformation must come from the heart and from within. As it was said if the secrets of the universe was kept in the deepest ocean, the sea creatures would be enlightened first or if kept in the highest sky the birds would be enlightened first, but god knows that humans would always seek outside and thus hide the secrets in the inside of their hearts... Thank you again for your time, patience and love in answering this lengthy question, i shall read more on the other topics to understand better. I pray and hope others will also be patient with themselves on their spiritual journey as it is along journey but small and sure steps, will bring us the fruits of the practice. God bless and JSM (writer wishes anonymity)
