Dear Sister Seeta I would not advise to perform Havan with candles. Maybe - if you don`t have a possibility to perform it with a bonfire - you can just use a paper burning technics. You can read the whole discussion on that topic in divinesahajayoga group from the post of Moderator to Aunty Shaku (2nd of September) . Dear brother, The question about Sahaj Havan was answered fully long ago - elder yogis heard from Shri Mataji that Havan with candles is the ego product and the light of a candles is not proper for it. For good instructions for doing havan you can ask Aunty Shaku if she can help you. Hanna " Sakis " <mprgrandmaster Sat Aug 6, 2005 9:48 am Some questions Jai Shri Mataji! Dear brothers and sisters, I hope under the blessings of Our Respected Mother you are all well! Also, what do you think about Reiki? b)A question I have repeteadly asked but with no answer (at least, satsfying) watsofar:Can someone please give me compete instructons for the Sahaja Yoga havan? Can it be done with four candles at home? What has Shri Mataji said? Love, A brother raj <r_raj02 Sat May 22, 2004 10:10 am Havan with candles Jai Shree Mataji! The Valaya site has some info on this. However, before doing it please refer to any of the leaders / senior Sahajis on Shree Mataji's advise on doing/ not doing Havan with candles. raj Hanna Turczyn Zalewska <hannaturczynzal wrote: Hi, Latika We do the home Havan like this. Take a big plate or wide shallow bowl or some other flat item (metal, porcelane stone, clay... - not plastic). Decorate it with kumkum - put Crosss, Swastica and Om signs on it. The directions I don`t know. Maybe there are rules telling that Swastica has to be at North side, Om at South and Cross at East and West. Or maybe the other way round - please correct it if anybody knows that rule. And also maybe we can do simpler decoration with Om in the middle only for example. Than put four candles in four " corners " (the item is usually round not too close to each other and than put four (or less) apples (or other fruits) around with incens in them (optionally - we can put incens in anything). Light the candles and incens and perform Havan as usually but without throwing rice. And of course we do this in a presence of Mother so we sit around the havan place in a half circle facing Mother`s photo. I don`t know exactly which direction we put the altar but maybe to the East. So we don`t face West during the Havan. After the Havan we offer everything what is left - even the candles - to the water. The plate is washed nad waits to another ocassion. We can do home Havan also in a fireplace if we have any. With big fire and with rice. But only the people sitting closest to the fire are able to throw it directly to the fire so is better if other yogis perform Havan without rice. Dear Hanna, In one of Shree Mataji's talk which I heard long back( a few years ago) Shree Mataji made a passing remark to the effect that we should do havan with fire and not candles. BUT please check this again with other senior Sahajis/leaders as it was something Shree Mataji said in passing but I stopped doing it after that. In any case please do not feel guilty that you or others have been doing it as we are all the time facing new challenges and improvise to situations around us.The question is whether this was started by some yogis or taught by Shree Mataji.I hope the older Sahajis could throw some light in this subject.... regards raj Hanna Turczyn Zalewska <hannaturczynzal wrote: Dear Raj, Do you have any signals that Mother doesn`t permit Havan with candles? In Poland since 1993 we sometimes do home candle Havans (especially during winter) as I explained earlier. And we never heard that it is not allowed. But of course we`ll stop doing this if you have some sure knowledge about its prohibity. Thank you very much dear Raj brother:) Here this candle-havan was started by yogis. At that time we didn`t have the acces to any fire place and also it didn`t sound bad so we didn`t check. Now this question has to be resolved completely We will try to do this from our side and if someone can help would be great. I feel this is important because now we have many new yogis. So we heve to teach them the right things. Best wishes Hania

Even 15 years is insufficient for subtle system pandits to come to their senses. We just have no idea how much Her teachings about treatments have been corrupted. All i can say is that Shri Mataji paid little emphasis and importance on these rituals, providing even less knowledge on how to carry them out. Yet SYs today have somehow managed to build a large library of ceremonies and techniques to deal with almost anything that ails a human. Now, if Shri Mataji revealed so little about treatments, why and how have human egos added so much of their own ignorance? ANSWER: As Violet explained earlier, for most SYs the subtle system is all they can talk about. Surely all this energy and attention is bound to bring forth answers to solve problems. The four-candle havan is nothing compared to the disease of multiple catches, the weird analysis of its cause, and the complicated sequence of treatments to cure the unfortunate victim. Who wants to join Sahaja Yoga which renders you spiritually sick for years ........................... with no relief in sight. It is a daily dose of footsoaking, shoebeating, candle treatment, matka, diet and what not to rid oneself of the ceaseless catches. Who then has the time and energy to learn about the Divine Message and spread it to humanity? regards, jagbir
