Guest guest
Dear All, i once read/heard Pilgrim's Progress by Paul Bunyan when i was a little girl, and i remember the profound affect it had on me, spiritually. That is why i remember this book with great fondness. This Christian Classic never dates, as it relates to Spiritual Pilgrims and their Spiritual Progress. Therefore, i thought to present one chapter per week, so everyone can enjoy this Classic together, and perhaps share some relevant insights from it as well, if we like. Apparently John Bunyan had planned to write something else entirely, when the words of this book came to him. That is why he starts the book with his apology (which obviously was not necessary).... but i guess he did not know then.... that Pilgrim's Progress was going to be a very major Christian Classic for all time. Here is the apology he wrote: (http://www.sacred-texts.com/chr/bunyan/pp00.htm) i remember in the days before we had a television (now that makes me sound ancient), but believe me, it was not that long ago that us children would listen to the weekly Radio Story Time For Children, and this is where i heard Pilgrim's Progress each week, and eagerly looked forward to the next installment. Now, i would like to share this Classic with you, on the Internet over a period of 20 weeks, at one chapter per week. i hope you all like this idea, because unless you have ever read this book, you will have no idea about the Spiritual Gems in it. So, here now is the first Chapter: (http://www.sacred-texts.com/chr/bunyan/pp01.htm) Please enjoy! Violet
Guest guest
Dear Violet, Thanks for posting this here, and it will be enjoyable to read and discuss the chapters each week. As a child this book gave me much comfort and peace.
